Its so dry where I live that its a challenge keeping the soap hydrated while loading the brush! OK, maybe not that dry but it is pretty dry so I find that leaving the tub open away from the wet areas for the course of the shave and post shave process is adequate. I've not seen a goopy soap yet. I have several soaps that are just pucks that I will hold in my left hand while loading the brush and after I let those dry off for the similar time period as above I wrap them in wax paper using the sandwich wrapping technique my mother taught me over 50 years ago (smart lady) and then I put a rubber band around the parcel. I took to buying in puck form those soaps that were available like that for space conservation- those big old tubs pile up and take up space. I'll save the labels and stick them on to the wax paper as my nose memory can sometimes fail me.

I let mine air dry until the next morning and then cap them. Never had any problems.
