It is no secret what Lee charges for his brushes. Plenty of guys will be happy to tell you what they paid for brushes. While there is a bit of a range they don't vary by much. The strange thing to me has always been the inability of someone to say what they paid Lee for their brushes on most forums I have been a part of. For some reason price disclosure seems to be discouraged and not just on TSN.
Regarding BadDad's comment about price caps only applying to a certain object on the BST. This is not accurate. I realize you might not be aware of this due to not participating on the TSN forum. Just thought I'd make sure the facts were presented. While there isn't a fixed price guide per se, any currently produced and available product is not supposed to sell for more than someone can buy it new. This obviously does not apply to items that are no longer available. To me this seems like a very logical approach. Regarding monitoring/policing, that is a bit more a challenge, but honestly the other members do a really good job at policing the BST, and to my surprise they do it in a very gentlemanly way.

Anyway, as an aside, sometimes I guess I just get weary of hearing everyone grind their axes about why they don't participate in certain forums. I understand that some have very legitimate concerns and others seem to just be in it for the sport. Either way, just enjoy the forums you do choose to participate on and don't worry about the others. The places where all the gossip and backbiting occur turn into much less desirable places to spend time, speaking for myself obviously.

Personally, I don't have a problem with TSN or DFS for that matter, standardizing their BST sections.

Since when access to a BST section is a right or need it for participation?

Just saying?

I agree 100% with everything you've said here.

Just as a point of clarification, I did not intend to imply that TSN (or anywhere else) WAS being unfair. My statement was IF the price cap was only for the 1 specific item, that would be unfair. If that is not the case, than I applaud the effort to maintain the BST in a fair manner.

All forums have to function the way they see best for themselves. My participation is here because I enjoy the way this forum runs, and the way the members participate and conduct themselves. I am right there with you in having all the "pissing matches" and "whine about it" threads appear. I, personally, tend to dislike them. A passing phrase here and there never hurt anyone, but entire threads dedicated to nothing more than complaining about other forums seems unnecessary to me.

But that's a personal opinion and again, the loose nature that I love so much about this place is precisely why those threads occur here. A very difficult tightrope for the mods and admins here to walk.

But just as I am "a big boy that can decide if I like a price"...I can choose to ignore those threads as well...Just my humble $.02...

Yeah, TSN is a joke. They classified me as a vendor and banned me. I am in no way a vendor. They just ban without inquiring. And they won't respond to your email inquiring about the ban.

Now they want to police pricing....c'mon. If the price for an item is too high then let it not sell. Geez.

The OP is banned on TSN so perhaps there is another agenda here.

I must be thick as hell.

1] What do you mean "no retail pricing in the public domain"? What prices are we paying? TSN is not a public forum, it is privately owned. I do not understand what is "realistic" about their attempts to set prices.

2] Lee may be free to add his input, but what does that have to do with the general concept of capping prices on the BST, even for MF brushes?

3] The OP is banned on TSN - so what? What is the agenda your refer to? To bring down TSN? Just not nice and unnecessary.

Man, I can't believe those jerks over on that other forum did that.

Now I can just hit Ctrl V to participate in these complain-about-other-forums threads!

Really, who cares what they do on Shave Nook? Not me. That's a stupid name for a forum anyway. Tongue

There is no single source where a buyer can determine the retail price of an M&F Brush. Since their policy is that BST items must be priced below current retail TSN used the existing data available to establish baseline price for use on BST. That seems quite reasonable to me. TSN being private is not a factor. Public domain is a term used to describe data sources.

2] Lee may be free to add his input, but what does that have to do with the general concept of capping prices on the BST, even for MF brushes?

If Lee published a price list, TSN would not have needed to do an estimate of retail pricing. I understand if people disagree with a policy that does not allow pricing above retail. Personally I have no issue with it.

3] The OP is banned on TSN - so what?  What is the agenda your refer to?  To bring down TSN?  Just not nice and unnecessary.

Since the OP is banned on TSN, he will not be buying or selling on TSN. I have no idea why the OP started this post. I have no issues with him.
Hopefully that clears up some things.
