slickest soaps

Razorock Don Donato is the slickest slope I have ever used. It also takes water exceptionally well, so you can really wring out a ton of slickness without having it break down into a worthless pile of runny bubbles.

The scent is very subtle, powdery-minty. Very light without quite reaching faint.

Probably the worst soap I've tried... Mediocre performance and almost unscented, there's no scent on that. You detect absolutely no scent during the shave and you have to try a lot to smell anything on the bowl and put your nose on the surface of the soap putting a lot of effort to smell the supposedly herbal scent. The funny fact is that it's supposed to be an ideal soap for straight razor users. In my opinion, comparing to I Coloniali's slickness is far from being slick... The lather of this soap dries out faster than any other I've tried and I've tried many the last years I'm into wet shaving. Proraso soap, especially the White one, is a far better product, slicker and cheaper.

My guess would be that this is why there are so many different soaps available out there, what with everyone having their own opinions and experiences...

In fact, I have 2 other Razorock soaps and 1 Italian Barber, and I find them all to be outstanding soaps. YMMV...that's how it goes...

I have only owned one RazoRock soap, the tallow formula of XXX. I found it to be very slick, and actually I was quite impressed all around. I sold it because I prefer stronger scents and harder soaps, but it was still a great performing soap that smelled terrific.

They're different soaps. Actually, XXX is a good soap.

Hmmm. This is tough for me since I find that water hardness tends to throw a wrench into the results. Some soaps are much slicker in hard water than they are in soft water, and vice versa. That said, here are my overall picks (I can't select just one):

PannaCrema Nuavia
Antica Barbieria Colla
Czech & Speake

Also, for me slickness alone is sometimes insufficient. On occasion, I've used soaps that are extremely slick that lack protection, which usually leads to a rough shave no matter how smooth the glide.

Personally, if it is a good soap, then sufficiently incorporating water will make it very slick.

I would have to say mystic water with Stirling at a very close 2nd.

I know I am leaving some out. There is some listed in this thread that I need to try as well.

Stirling, Route 66 and Soap Commander are up at the top of my list, for sure.

For slickness alone , I'd say Stirling soaps and Shaver Heaven. Mdc at the higher end of the market.

I used to think CB was over hyped maybe because I didn't like the scent of the soap I first bought from them, I also didn't like the sampler of LPV I got cause I felt a little burning sensation.

However. As I am using CB Spanish Holiday, it hasn't failed me yet to be honest. I just used it again today and I had a great shave, 95 percent BBS, no irritation only one weeper, (My fault, I was singing along a song and was careless because my setup was oh so good)

I am going to add CB here on my list of slickest soaps. I really liked the performance today, heck I liked it so much I'm going to try the new formula even though it's half the amount of soap.
