So here's the thing. I needed a quick shave before going to a meeting - and had a can of goop kicking around. Didn't have time to soak my brush so I lathered up and grabbed my Timeless 95. My regular blade is a GSP. This blade was on it's third and last shave.

I got a tremendously smooth, slick shave. In fact it was even smoother, and slicker than my usual Fendrihan brands and usual suspects.

What the heck ? Whats as slick as the canned goop? May have to use the goop again with a brush this time. Thanks all.

Gilette something or other. Edge is in the title. I always keep a can around if I'm travelling.

I use the canned Barbasol, canned Proraso Green / Red when I'm at the cottage. When I fly, I use the small can of Proraso Yellow. I always use them with a damp brush because the additional water puts the slickness over the top. The Proraso yellow can which has Shea butter is probably the slickest. I wish I could find the big yellow can from a Canadian vendor. I don't like the canned stuff that comes out in a gel and then expands and turns to cream, just don't get good cushion with it.

I’ve had similar experiences with the canned stuff paired with a quality razor. While on vacation I brought along my Charcoal goods WCS collaboration SS razor but decided to use a can of Gillette Foamy Sensitive Skin Shave Foam which was in the gym at our resort. The resulting shave was outstanding. It was super slick and post shave was very nice. I used my brush but didn’t have to. I just used it to paint the foam on my face. I want to pick up a small can of it for use on business trips.

The Extra Moisturizing Barbasol (Purple Can) is just as good or better than the Yellow can that it took the place of. The lather is thicker.

If I remember correctly it didn't sell too well.

Bought the Geneling a Mach3 and some Barbasol when he started college last fall. He's back for the summer, and his mom was hogging the sink one morning so I grabbed the Slim adjustable and headed to the kid's bathroom. I grabbed his Barbasol goop and slathered it <thinly> on a <very> damp face and had a decent shave. I had the Slim cranked pretty far toward the mild side and I had a Lab Blue so I didn't need much help from the goo but it worked fine.
