Tabac is a sentimental favorite for me. I started on this traditional wet shaving journey five years after my father died. I still remember going to Gene's Barbershop with him on a Saturday, watching Tarzan movies on the 9 inch BW TV on the shelf while waiting my turn. Gene used Aqua Velva and so did Dad at home. It wasn't until I was in Pasteur's smelling soaps and my wife and I both liked Tabac - I realized that was the soap my Dad had in his mug all those years ago when I would sneak a sniff when he wasn't around!

The fact that Tabac performs so well for me is a bonus.

I'm a younger gent at the ripe age of 29 so traditional wet shaving and barbering was probably on its way out at that point. the scent that I remember smelling that takes me back is pinaud talc from the barber shops...

I don't recall ever seeing my Dad shaving with anything but disposable razors and canned foam/gel.

Pitralon Classic smells like something my grandfather would have worn. I'm not sure if he did or not, but it makes me think of his thoughtful way of speaking and deadpan sarcasm.
