I got a used Timeless Ti Slim DE razor and had a question regarding a milder base plate. Send the question via the contact feature on their site on Sunday. Within less than 30 minutes it was answered (on a Sunday....)!!! We had an email exchange on Sunday afternoon and Monday and now a new base plate is already on the way to me!! I could not be happier with this kind of customer support and being so very helpful. It is really a rarity these days to get superb treatment as just a user of their products, not that I am the original owner who bought it from them. I highly recommend these guys!! If I ever look into getting another razor, this would be my very first choice!!

Yes. Great line-up. Love their 100mm handles and the slim heads. The bronze 38 gapped head is a favorite as well. Wet shaving gilded era!

I put a Slim together from parts purchased from Timeless Razors; a stainless steel head with a Ti Crown handle.

With a Feather blade it gave me an exceptionally close and irritation free shave.  Then I switched to a Nacet blade, with lesser results.  So for my third shave I returned to the same Feather blade, but this time with 2 shims under the blade; that was for me the perfect combination.

Where rudyvey sought less efficiency I sought more, and with 2 shims I got it.  I also find the combo of stainless steel head and titanium handle has a better weight balance than an all stainless (altogether too heavy) or all titanium (handle heavy) razor.  Also money was an issue, and I was able to buy the topcap and handle from Scratch & Dent.  But even if I was well monied, I would still choose an SS head & Ti handle combo; I just like it better.

Lastly, a few months ago I read a review comparing the Timeless Slim with the Mühle R41.  The reviewer clearly favored the R41, and described the difference as between aggressiveness vs efficiency.  (I wish I'd bookmarked that review, because now I can't find it.)  He saw the R41 as efficient and the Slim as aggressive; I couldn't disagree more.  I find the Slim efficient without aggressiveness even with 2 shims added, and the R41 a poorly designed (and often poorly built) bloodthirsty razor.

Rudy Vey's opinions hold more gravitas in the wet shaving world than mine. I would probably not presume to try and influence Timeless' production.  I will mention it to them nonetheless, and if they offer I will accept, but I'm not going to ask for exceptions, as I can always use shims.  "That's all folks."

It seems that I would definitely agree with you on the slim. The slim is not nearly as aggressive as I thought it was based on how they describe it. It is definitely a fantastic tool and very efficient. I got rid of my R41 from what I remember because I found it to be rougher than I cared for and I like Blade feel and aggressive razors. It just felt harsh to me and I want to enjoy my shave. And that's my .02¢. Tongue

I have the Ti .95OC and it is efficient and incredibly smooth. The smoothness of the razor actually surprised me the first time I used it and it's definitely top-notch

I have the .68 Ti SB and that would fit the bill as mild (available in SS also). It was too mild for me, so I went with the .95OC on the Ti and the slim head on my SS. I'm sure they got you what you needed.

The Bronze .38 is fantastic. I'm looking at the .78OC bronze down the road somewhere. I have heard that is their most aggressive razor. Which kind of doesn't surprise me as I find that the Bronze .38 is probably the most aggressive one of the three Timeless that I own now. It seems to have more blade feel than the SSSlim and even my Ti .950C. At least that's what I remember, it has been a while since I used the Bronze.

I love the 38. I had the 78OC - either I am not manly enough or not skilled enough to handle her.... SOLD HER.... Absolutely aggressive. I found it had more bite than a muhle R41. The 78OC was a mako shark to me.

I have to concur with TommyCarioca , the Bronze .78 OC was brutally harsh. Not sure what it was, but was completely unpleasant to use.
