It's one of those terms that when I read it, it makes me think the author is trying to be cool or nonchalant or START A NEW LINGO hoping others will follow.
Drives me nuts.
(Watching people enjoy bad music drives me much more nuts though. Smile )

Ha! Agreed.  Can't stand watching people clapping and singing along to junk music.  If suds drives you crazy like that I'll have more care to not use it.

So I’m at a loss as to why “suds” is annoying.  Could someone, Nero provide an example of how the word “suds” is used that is so annoying?  I don’t think I’ve seen the word used relating to shaving before this thread. I’m a lather guy
Thanks

It started with Lynn Abrams. Nothing against him or anyone who subsequently used it.
Just hits a spot I can't get explain!

Suds is used interchangeably for lather (incorrectly). I find it annoying. Nothing more than that.

Fair enough, I’m not keen on the term outside of washing dishes or clothes. Years ago I was an active home brewer and got involved with some similar minded guys and we were trying to get a home brew club off the ground to rival another local club called the Marquis de Suds. A play on marquis de Sade I think. Anyway, time came to name the club and some wit suggests Suds Buds. I think it was with s and not z. I hated the name but the group went with it. I went too. Sometimes you just don’t like a word.

Good point. It is like saying "My face is as smooth as a poop machine's butt". Blech! I like kids, but only when they are far away. Like maybe the moon or Mars.

Who is "Scott"? Great Scott? Sir Walter Scott? Mr. Scott from Star Trek?

We have Corey Greenberg to thank for that one. I would say its forgivable, given that he is one of the pillars of the traditional shaving revival.
