ive used system and disposable multi blade disposable razors from all
brands while in the shower and ive had excellent results!!!!! i mean
excellent results that i LOVE!!! taking a long shower helps my facial
hair soften like easily 80% if not more!!! when i shave against the
grain its just smoooooooth!!!! no irritation whatsoever even when
atg. just lovin it!!!! now heres the problem. i may not always get
the chance to shave while in the shower. i was talking to a friend of
mine who knows this guy who considers himself a shaving expert and
this is what he told him regarding shaving while in the shower and
shaving a couple of minutes after taking a shower at the sink. WHEN
YOU SHAVE WHILE IN THE SHOWER ASSUMING ITS A GOOD LONG SHOWER IS THAT
YOUR FACIAL HAIR IS SATURATED WITH WATER TO THE POINT WHERE ITS MOIST
BY ITSELF AND THATS WHY IT FEELS SO GOOD! IF YOU WAIT A COUPLE OF
MINUTES AFTER SHOWERING AND DO IT AT THE SINK ITS NO LONGER THAT MOIST
YOUR FACIAL HAIR OF COURSE! YOUVE LOST THAT MOISTURE IN YOUR FACIAL
HAIR AT THAT POINT! since he told my friend that, if i wait like
10-15 minutes after taking a long shower and decide to shower at the
sink, how can i make my facial hair that moist like in the shower if
it that point its no longer 80%+ moist/saturated with water? how can
i replicate this assuming it could be done???? can it be done at all
or not???? what products could help me replicate this? proraso????
gillette??? aloe vera??? replicate it exactly like im still in the
shower saturated with water and that moist?? can anyone or someone
please tell me this???? rsvp. thank you.

I usually shave just after a shower. I am pretty sure a lot of other guys do the same. It greatly improved my shaves. Maybe the same would work for you? Or if you don't have time to shower at all, then maybe using pre-shave oil would help. Also, wetting your face before applying shaving cream should help.

I'm not so sure there is such a thing as a "shaving expert". Shaving isn't rocket science, and is easily mastered by adhering to a few simple rules and practicing.

You're right. I don't shave in the shower often, but when I do, I get some of my best shaves. I Always keep an iKon and C O Bigelow cream in there just in case.

I used to shave in the shower with a cartridge razor and canned foam. I understand that a continuous wet beard is the best way to shave. Since I discovered traditional wet shaving, I shave at the sink with a mirror. I take a hot shower before every shave. I also use Harry's face wash to exfoliate and stimulate my face and beard. I have my bowl, lather, razor and brush prepped at the sink. After I dry off and get to the sink, it is typically 5 to 7 minutes. I then re-wet my face and beard with hot water, and rub in Cremo with the hot water, as a pre-shave. I then lather and shave. I do not feel I have lost the "wet beard" effect, with this procedure. It is my opinion that my face and beard have not returned to "zero" in the 5 minute break after the shower. It is possible that the longer you wait, say 20 or more minutes, your beard will lose the wetting effect of the hot shower....and return to "zero". There is a lot of conflicting "expert" information online with regard to wet stubble, facial pores, etc. I suggest getting to your shave as soon as possible after a hot shower, re-wetting with hot water, and determining if that works for you. Some people traditional wet shave in the shower with a de-fogging mirror, and face lathering. I would not do this with an expensive razor that could be damaged when dropped.

I've been shaving in the shower for years using carts to avoid rash.
When I started using DE's I saw no reason to change.

I shower shave 99% of the time. I have a mirror in the shower with a razor hook. I shave only with the most efficient of razors (Ikon Tech and the like). I have very coarse whiskers and get the very best and closest shaves while in the shower. Just my 2 cents.

The only time I shave at the sink is when I'm traveling. It never feels quite the same at all. My skin dries out quickly even after a hot shower.

I don't think what you are asking for is possible. I shave in shower 99% of time. If I shave at sink, it is always directly after. Maybe the wet hot towel method for 5 min?

Do you use soap? Honest question. I met a guy that used a WR1 .94SB daily, with no soap. Just under a constant stream of shower water, as I recall. He too loved the Ikon Tech but settled on a L3 CG.
