Shaving cream/soap for sensitive skin

Hello gentlemen! I'm new here and to straight razor shaving as well. I have very sensitive skin and I am looking for shaving creams/soaps that I can use to avoid break outs and razor bumps/burns. I have always struggled with replaceable cartridges and razors. I guess the conditioning strips at the top of the cartridges just had an ingredient that my skin just didn't agree with. I first tried a shavette and that felt so much better to me and was a much closer shave. The only problem I had with it was my hair was getting caught in between the door and the blade and caused it to pull and tug.
 
 I didn't have too much trouble with it besides 2 small nicks from the hair getting caught so I decided to just order the real deal. I ordered a Ralf Aust 5/8 round point and some Proraso white sensitive skin as well as a tube of Neutrogena sensitive skin shaving cream. My question is do more manufacturers make sensitive skin formulas that may be better? Thanks

I had the same issue with carts. I have eczema, but learned that my skin didn’t react to many fragrance ingredients (with the exception of clove), but my #1 brand is ETHOS. I would highly suggest taking Dan up on his offer, and also Frank is really nice guy to talk to about his products. He has a page for his brand in the Soaps & Creams section. He has, to my knowledge, the only true Unscented soap and splash on the market. Hope this helps!

I have not (yet!) tried Ethos Clean, which is the unscented, but I use unscented soaps exclusively as I have rosacea. For years, my favorite has been Mystic Water Soap Sensitive Skin.

Another thought: the type of brush that you use can also make a difference. I enjoyed a boar brush, but found it's stiffness, or backbone, was irritating my face. I needed delicate rose petals. Just kidding! I liked a soft, floppy brush better than the boar.
