Shave Count (DE: 449 SE: 9 SR: 587)

Pre Shave-
Strop: none
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Gillette Slim
Blade: Feather
Brush: Simpson Badger
Soap: PAA Porthos

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: PAA Porthos

I scored some new Feather blades in a PIF and had to give them a try. I also brought out the Slim and the Simpson. The Porthos was a great call today and a 15 second load time and I was ready for business. Even with the decreased load time, it whipped up a very nice lather.

Three easy peasy passes and I am BBS for the win! Outstanding first shave with a Feather blade ... man that was a great shave. I think with the addition of the new blades, I may have enough to last a lifetime. With the 19mm brush I still had lather for a post shave while I cleaned my shave gear too.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A heavy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Outstanding shave and I smell amazing! Life is good!

Shave Count (DE: 449 SE: 9 SR: 588)

Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Hyashi SR
Blade: none
Brush: Knothead Boar
Soap: Stirling Frankincense and Myrrh

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: Stirling Frankincense and Myrrh

I picked this set up on our visit to Rod and Mandy’s shop. Off the puck, I wasn’t sure about this scent, so I wanted to lather it and see how it opens up. I am still on the fence with this one. The scent to, my nose, smells very similar to Cedar. I absolutely despise Cedar. The only thing that trash wood is good for is fence posts. Yeah ... I dont much care for Cedar. Anyway I got after it with a 25 second load time and a wet brush. Didn’t take but a minute and I had a lot of slick lather to work with.

10 laps on cotton and 40 on leather to get me going. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. A very comfortable shave ... very nice. The scent wafted in and out during the shave and seemed to mellow. A relaxing shave and I am BBS for the win! Had plenty of lather left for a post shave as well.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Or was it? Yeah, it was but I’m still on the fence with this scent. The AS brought forward a citrus scent that faded quickly and was back to the scent off the tub. I may use this a few more days to see, but this may slide into the PIF/trade bin. Life is good!

Shave Count (DE: 449 SE: 9 SR: 589)

Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Hyashi SR
Blade: none
Brush: Vintage Rooney Boar
Soap: Stirling Alighieri

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: Stirling Alighieri

The vintage Rooney is on deck today. I picked this up unused. It had been cleaned but not used or broken in. It has a bit of scritch, but not bad. Went with a 15 second load time and that was plenty for this 19mm. I have found that I lean towards the smaller brushes now that I have used both. The 19-24 is right in my wheelhouse.

10 laps on cotton and 40 on leather. Had another great shave and I am once again BBS for the win! Had a small bit of lather left for the post shave as well. This soap/AS set has a nice subtle scent to it too. The soap base is very nice. The tallow, lanolin and shea butter make for a slick shave and excellent post shave. Life is good!

Nice shave Tim! 19 sounds pretty tiny lol. Whatever works though right? I feel like my 24mm is about as small as I’d like.
