This is not an inexpensive razor and some may need to safe up some money before hitting the "buy" button on the credit card.Initially, I was hoping the cost of these would come in where I would be able to break it down into two payments for folks...a down payment now and then the final payment when I'm shipping. I'm producing these with no tools so that added to the cost quite a bit. Parts like the doors are being produced with no tools. The Kickstarter project assumed I would raise enough to make tools. My new costs are based on the reality of no tools. By no tools, I mean I'm not producing some of the 'plate' parts using MIM, Powder Metal or even investment casting.
Tools are expensive but the piece part price is low. Going the tool-less route means the piece part price is high. A win for the tool-less route is that this is favorable to the project schedule as there's no time needed to fabricate and debug tools.
