Im sure this might have been covered before...

But I wanted to know your thoughts on this shave soap.

Price and performance.

I see a lot of mixed reviews online, with quite a few guys say its the best skin feel of any shave soap they have used.

The price range seems very excessive for very minimal ingredients.

I understand that the essential oils he uses are very pricey, but not to justify that price range.

I look forward to hearing what you guys feel and if any of you have personally used it.

I have a Sebum soap and It's a great soap. I guess the price is subjective. Everything has it's price, If you think an item is worth the price, you have the option to buy it, if you don't feel it's not worth the price, then you have the right not to. I used to use other super fatted shaving soaps, but the long ingredients lists are quite horrendous on some of them. I personally love soaps with minimal ingredients, the cleaner the better, for me and my face. As always YMMV.
If Sebum offered soap samples, then it would allow people to form their own individual opinions and choices.

I would love to get a sample if I could.

Glad you like the sebum soap.

Im also a fan of low profile dense lathering soaps, which I hear sebum soaps are like that.

Funny timing...
I have never used Sebum, but I just bought the Barbershop soap from Tonka Bean Shave Co. (which is the same owner), and he said I bought that brand's very last jar of soap... though they do have some serums left for sale.

He said he has been shutting down the TBSC business so he could focus on the Sebum brand and the Fat Cheeks brand (which makes body powder).

I had Sebum Blue...soap and aftershave...sold them both. Scent was fine, neither good nor bad, but then again that's not why you buy this brand. Instead, you're looking for a world class performance and that's where it simply did not deliver for me. I'll be the first to admit, it's likely more me than the soap, but though I was able to generate an 'okay' lather that delivered 7-8/10 performance (cushion and slickness) I'm under the impression that this soap can deliver a 10/10. I tried, and tried,...and tried, watched a lot of videos, tried synthetic brushes (I'm a badger fan by faaar, so this was a big step for me), ordered specials shave bowls, you name it....8/10. That's not bad, but... And, as for the aftershave, too oily for my skin. I was stuck between oily but great post-shave feel, or not oily and 'okay' feel. Again, despite what are likely my faults, it's was maybe an 8/10, but given the effort it was taking me to close that gap to 10/10, and given the price paid, I personally decided it just not worth it for me. Ethos (splash), ABC (soap), Eufros (soap and balm), even MWF (soap), I get as good or even better performance for lower cost and far less effort. Sebum is exotic in what it does and in what's required BUT if that's you, then it could be the best experience you'd have...I moved on and am happier for it.
