There are Sandalwood soaps out there that are good soaps and offer good performance as well but if their 3 to 4 oz and are priced under $75 it’s for sure they are using synthetics to fragrance the soaps. Nothing wrong with that. I’m just a fan of real Mysore Sandalwood which is the rarest, hardest to get and most expensive and East Indian is a good 2nd choice but still more expensive than the price of gold per oz. Its funny in the early 70’s before 3/4 of the Sandalwood trees were destroyed in India by fire and flooding as a result of mismanagement of the Sandalwood forests especially in the Mysore region it was easy to get and not expensive. Boy times have changed.

That's the same in perfumes. Instead of Indian Sandalwood the perfumers are now using Australian or Burmese Sandalwood.

I am from India and I can relate very well with your thoughts on Mysore Sandalwood. It's illegal now to deal in and is controlled commodity and it does cost a bomb.

We use real sandalwood in ours. Australian to be specific. It is also under $75.

I've said this before but I'll say it again, I'd like to see Ogallala scents Bay Rum, Sage and Cedar and Limes and Peppercorn in a decent soap base.  I use their Toner all the time but the soap...

Parfums de Marly's Layton is #1 on my list, followed by scents based on the recent trend in the fragrance community for blends (e.g., a combo of BKR-540 and Aventus).

Amen to that brother!  Scent is awesome.  Soap is just ok.  I use my old pucks to washout new knots.  Would love to see theirs scents in a better base.
