From what I'm aware of ( I may be wrong ),
glycerin up to concentrations of 1% to 5% it
acts as a skin moisturizer ,but at larger concentrations
it really dries up the skin ,absorbing it's water
content.

You're right. Mostly, It's in the range 3-5% in soap and aftershave.
What comes after in INCI has lower concentration.
