Nice video. I watched it to see if it would shed any light as to why SV doesn't work well for me. From what I saw it must not pair well with my skin chemistry. My loaded brush looks even thicker than yours yet on my face the soap breaks down and stays thin; definitely not creamy for me. Your lather really came together on your face which I never could get to happen. Glad it works better for you than it does for me.

Enjoy!

Great video.

As Sharpspine so wisely says, I also believe now, that some soaps simply does not work for some people, no matter how experienced you are and how well you know how to load the brush with soap and how to face lather - some soaps simply WILL NOT WORK for certain Gentleman.

This can have to do with skin chemistry, water hardness or a whole third thing.

I just know all my 8 Sapo Varesino soaps works great for me. Thick moist luxuirous lather, that lasts through the 2-3 passes of the shave.
However, I'm not good friends with MWF and Lea Classic hard shaving soaps, which gives me a thin bubly unstable lather, even if I load my brush for 10+ minutes and face lather trying to build the lather for 15 minutes by slowly adding warm drops of water to the lather.

The production quality of this video is really good. The music was cool, and I liked the scoring at the very end. Very nice!

Sorry about your friend-- definitely a good reminder to keep perspective of things. I'll use my SV Stella Alpina tomorrow, and I'll appreciate it more.

BTW I have commented in your videos on youtube, that you don't face lather, but bowl lather.

However this time you actually face lather Happy2

Get yourself some bottled water and try again see if it makes a difference

I love my SV! There was a time when I had trouble lathering it but that's not the case anymore and thankfully so. Some of the scents aren't strong enough for my taste so Cosmo and Tundra are the only keepers for me now.

Note about the wooden bowl. SV recommends placing the puck with the plastic liner in the wood bowl. Then to switch scents you simply life the puck with liner out and replace it with another. I don't see how it makes much difference myself.

I agree with Hobbyist. I have both the square style SV wooden 'bowl' as well as the round one shown in the video. I keep the plastic liner on the soap and then drop that into the wooden bowl. Since I bloom these soaps, I'll take the liner and soap out, separate them and rinse them, air dry them, and wipe the wooden bowl down, so everything stays nice and clean.
