Rubberset 400 Thread - Show them off or detail your restore of one !!

I just went thru 30 pages or so and couldn't find a single thread on Restoring or owning a Rubberset 400 aluminum brush. They used to be very popular and it's been copied by many different makers. I like the originals. Show s yours and tell us about the restore and how you did it. Especially the polishing it back part as that's where I'm at now.

I have 1 and quite a few Ferrules made by Claudio Clouds so I can swap out to different knots at will. I Picked up a 2nd one about a month ago in a lot purchase and it sat until today when I finally got to try and get the ferrule loose. It was fighting even the rubber strap wrench so I took a heat gun and heated the ferrule end to expand the metal some. After a short while, turned the heat gun off and grabbed both ends and..................came of like it was meant to with ease. Now for the polishing a shine back on to it when I get time.

The hole opening is roughly 25mm so a 24mm and some 26mm. Some ferrules from Clouds are for 26mm knots and some are 24mm

No worries, I'll watch for updates. My 1st one I had to drill out the knot. This 2nd one (maybe from using the heat gun) threaded right out in one piece as seen in the pics. You need to get some ferrules to have variety now

Beautiful job on that one, especially the finish. Clouds Claudio in South Africa has Turned/Made mine

I the RazoRock 400 look-alike parts-compatible with the real ones, or are they a solid one-piece handle?
