People are paying $600 to $1000 and up for Wolfmans and BBS1's. No reason to think they wouldn't do the same with this one. I'm sure some will just for the simple fact of saying they have one.

Yep...

Hence me saying "unless they get an epic review". Wolfman and BBS-1 were priced so high due to the hype and reviews and eveyone wanting one. I got my BBS-1 on ebay for $450, can you believe that? Hype wasn't there yet. I just don't think this will sell much unless people buy it, love it, and bring some hype. After all, the Wolfman's and BBS-1 look much more unique as well.

All just my opinion though, could be completely wrong.

Never underestimate the power of people who want to be the first. First to own, review, share in a SOTD, etc. Rocnel has a pretty strong following. As soon as it's released it will be pounced on.

Guess I'm wrong then. Lol. Didn't know they had such a huge following. I've been wanting to try one of their DE razors but want to buy a used one somewhere. Crazy though that they are the first to make a razor that high of a price. But I guess they have every right too since they want the profit for their own creations rather than resellers taking half their profit. Makes sense. I personally think James should increase the Wolfman price.

I will take a stab at this. It is my opinion that once a stainless steel razor is removed from the CNC machine it is ready to go. Now, how do you want it to look? A few years ago I purchased an ATT Kronos 5 piece closed comb set for $299. That includes three base plates for different forms of aggressiveness. I have used all three at one time or another but the "R" is my everyday go too. If you take a close look the the ATT razor, it is not highly polished. That includes the handle, base plate and top cap. The base plates have a mild polish or if you will finish. Not highly polished by any means. The top cap still shows CNC cut marks on the inside that have not been polished out.

So what am I trying to say? If you want a beautiful highly polished razor it requires additional labor, sometimes a lot of labor. Labor equates to cost which is then is absorbed by the purchaser. Ergo, more and sometimes much more bucks. Now, does the highly polished beauty perform any better than my dull three base plate ATT? I can't say because I have not used the new generation super polished razors. However, I believe my ATT probably performs just as well. I am sure someone will dispute my viewpoint. I have several mirrors in my house if I want to see myself. I do not need to pay big bucks to see my image in a razor. But, if this is what you want and are willing to pay the price by all means do so.

Stainless razors don't need all the high polish of the old gillettes, but throwing them in an automated tumbling process shouldn't add too much cost and provides for a better presentation / statement of quality in my opinion.
