Ok, just stumbled upon this http://www.maggardrazors.com/product/roc...ing-brush/
It's a Rockwell synthetic brush 20 mm going for 30$ !!!

Rockwell 6S is my favourite razor and priced very reasonably. But this...
I might be wrong, but it looks like a typical Plissoft type knot in a unpresentable handle. Also, at 20 mm knot, I feel 10$ would be too much for this brush...

Thoughts?

That's way overpriced for sure.

I think it's overpriced, as well.  My Stirling Soap Co. synthetics (I have three) are amazing and each one costs a fraction of what Maggard's is showing for the Rockwell.  Of course, in all fairness, I haven't tried the Rockwell to see if it's worth that kind of money but because I'm so happy with the Stirling brushes and my Kent Infinity Silvertex, for a changeup, at $30.00 I don't feel the need to try this brush.

That looks pretty weaksauce to me. And only 20mm?! Should be $8-10 at the most.

I guess they are trying to sell them on name alone. Their safety razor is pretty good. You know what they say about a fool and his money though. He spends $200 on an ATT Gem razor like I did lol.

When I saw the original post, I was going to call the brush “wimpy,” but “weaksauce” is much better! Smile

Big Grin I hope the razor is worth it. (It very well could be.)

LOL.
But yeah, you might be right about the name, but still, I don't really consider Rockwell having the name recognition of ATT or Simpsons, at least not yet...
Tbh, at first I was sure 30$ was a typo. Interestingly, they don't have it listed on the Rockwell webpage...

But...it's custom made to Rockwell's specifications with a lathe-turned handle!!

All fluff in that description...not really sure how much better a plisson-style knot can be to make it worth 3X the cost of other great synthetics already out there...

Looks to be same or similar knot to the Maggard's. So I agree way over priced. Handle looks like small version of the monster, which I dislike. I saw it on Maggard's and was like who's Rockwell.

I keep watching and hoping for the new black fiber knot in a handle.

I agree. It's too much for a 20mm knot.
