Been seeing a lot of positive reviews etc. on the 6S and it has peaked my interest.  Seems as though smooth shaver is used a lot to describe it.  In researching I see that they are about to release the 6C.  I know the difference in materials but just wondering if anyone has used both and what you think.

I have never owned a SS razor but am not opposed to what they are making the 6C from. Looks like it can be had for $45.  Unsure if that price will go up after the March date.

I have one adjustable DE razor and that is a 1971 Black Beauty. It is okay but I enjoy other razors more. I mostly got it as it is my birth year and quarter.  I view the 6S and 6C more as a interchangeable razor vs adjustable and probably would settle on 1 plate 99% of the time.

Also after Rockwell fixed the original problems has anyone had any problems with the new production ones. Thank you for any info.

The 6C is not that much lighter than the S -- the heft is surprising. Both finishes on the C are fancier than on the S. (A brushed chrome version will be released later in the year.) Shave-wise, I don't feel any significant difference. The 6C is a good razor if you want to save a few bucks, and QC on both is excellent.

Thanks Ron rsp1202. The gun metal looks pretty cool. I saw it with just the 1-3 baseplate, not sure if it is available with all 3 base plates.

It will be. That's what I'll be getting when the production model is released.

Are you on the pre-order list for the estimated March release. I know next to nothing about Kickstarter etc. so was not sure if just anyone could pre-order.

Yes. Rockwell did a great job on the 6S so I figured it was worth the small risk to sign up for their new project. It wasn't that costly and I got in early for some nice perks. My only regret is that they couldn't get the brushed chrome version funded up front like they had planned, but that will come later. They're going to have a nice system of razors and accessories in place when all is said and done.

I have the 6s and also the 6c. I like the shave of the 6 c better than the 6s. They look exactly alike except for the chrome finish on the 6c. I think the chrome finish is slicker than the stainless steel finish. And, the weight is just right in the 6c razor. The 6s has a heavier tool like feel. That's my opinion. Both very good and there's a plate for everyone in both sets. The $45. 6c is a real bargain IMHO. The 6c should last a lifetime or two with some care? And will you care if you're dead?

Thanks oldie.  I wonder how the gunmetal finish would compare?

I own both, each with all 3 base plates. The 6S is marginally heavier, the 6C is shiny and nicer to look at. They both provide comfortable, smooth shaves. I agree with oldie that the chrome finish is a tad 'slicker' on the face than the unpolished 6S, but just by a bit. I also ran a test shaving with the 5 plate for the first pass, 3 plate for the 2nd and third, and 1 plate for touchups and buffing. I found both very easy to switch and flip plates even in the middle of a shave.

Thanks everyone. I pulled the trigger on the 6S today. I may check into the 6C that comes with just the one baseplate in the future especially if they start letting you choose which baseplate you want after I find out which works best for me. Could be the #1-3 hits the sweet spot.
