I got my new 6S yesterday. This was just the delivery of the pre-ordered razors. I am not considered a retailer or a friend of the company at all. I purchased the razor at the pre-ordered full price and am not compensated for any reviews in any way.

I fiddled with this for well over an hour this morning. Something I haven't had to do with other razors that I needed to with this one.

I do think it is a reasonable purchase if you consider the following.

I don't believe that they are targeting the same market or standards as ATT, so I don't want to compare them.

Immediately I noticed the amazingly nice packaging. A tin case with dense black foam inserts got me excited. Great customer appeal.

Here are a couple of caveats. There are some tiny machining blemishes (divots) that are easily seen with the naked eye on a couple of the bars, but I am confident that they will not affect the shave one bit or scratch my face.

The blade has some play in it on the posts and it appeared off centered and crocked when I first finger tightened the handle like I always do with my other handles. I was very disheartened. After over an hour of fiddling with it, I wrapped a towel around the head (to protect my fingers) and tightened the handle down a bit more than my normal finger tight. Then the blade appears to be pushed up further on the slightly tapered posts to shift the blade straight. Normally on all my other razors, I just hand tighten the handle. This just requires a smidge more than that.

Bottom line, I believe that people will enjoy this razor for the price point as long as they don't anticipate the same machining quality as the higher priced Stainless steel razors out there. It isn't bad machining, just a different standard.

I'm fixing to give mine a spin in R3 mode. I agree with Peter in some of the flaws, they are pretty obvious, but I don't think they will interfere with the shave. My main concern is blade alignment and twisting, I am going to use my magnifying glass to take a good look at it.

Wish me and my face luck! Using a brand new Med Prep.

Sorry to hear your having some issues with the set. I am having just the opposite. My set arrived and after inspection pronounced it perfect. Blade alignment has been excellent with no issues. Tomorrow I will be trying my third bottom plate (#4). The last couple of shaves have been great. I did clean all the parts of the razor as I found residue from manufacturing.

The slight blemishes are the reason Rockwell's relaunch is taking longer than expected. Although it doesn't effect the shave at all, I'm sure some folks find it unsightly. It's the result of the finished razors clanging into each other after manufacture at the factory. I spoke with Rockwell and they're implementing steps with the manufacturer to prevent this.
My razor has no issue with blade alignment/gap/etc, and even with a tiny blemish on one of the plates i would have been happy if this was the final result.

I think I am going to have to play with it a bit more. The R3 didn't work as expected, but I am going to try it again with other plates and see what happens. Won't quit on it just yet.

I will bite my tongue all day for my initial impressions. I shaved with the R-3 plate today and got an amazing shave, no issues with alignment on the blade when tightened down really tight.

I used the Rockwell blade and I didn't get a single weeper even where I normally would have gotten weepers. Kudos. Great Razor. I think I will stick with R-3 as I think I nailed the right gap on the first use.

I would feel extremely confident to buy this as a gift any day of the week.

I'm really happy to hear that they might finally have gotten it right. I have one of the 'good ones' from the kickstarter days and really enjoy it
