These happen from time to time, on Amazon Marketplace as well (with various items). I always wonder what the story is behind such outrageous prices.

I read an article once that sometimes black market activity is the reason like selling drugs over the internet. They'll put up a filthy looking Bill Cosby sweater for example. No one in their right mind would want that. They set up a deal and agree to the "sweater" codeword and then wink wink nudge nudge... Buyer and seller have a transaction.

Usually I just don't think they enter the prices correctly when selling legitimate things.

A guy at work told me last week he was looking for ice skates for his kid on Craigslist and was browsing through all the odd things for sale in our area. He showed me one listing. A half burned scented candle for $1.50... We laughed. I made an offer for $0.75. Some people are really just straight up weird... Nice candle though.

I don't know why anyone would buy anything from Australia from outside the country as shipping is beyond exorbitant.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Some more gems from the same vendor:

$316 US for DR Harris & Co Beech Wooden Shaving Bowl with Windsor Shaving Soap;
$264 US for Acca Kappa almond shaving soap in wenge wood bowl;
$165 US for Geo F Trumper Shaving Soap (Violet, 80g);
$147 US for Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap in Dish;
$150 US for Mama Bear's KL Shaving Soap;
$251 US for The Handmade Soap Co Shaving Kit;

But, shipping is free for all of these items.
Oh, and I love the name of this vendor.
Wait for it, “SIMPLY BEST PRICES”!

My favorite would have to be the Brass Wolfman WR1-SB Head with Darwin Handle that sold on Feb 11th for $1,100

I’ve posted these before, but they’re still some of the “best” deals I’ve seen:

Speaking of Ebay scalpers. As soon as the B&M Latha Discontinuation email went out this appeared:

It's not "scalping", it's profiting off of stupid people. It is a dick move IMO, but if somebody is dumb or desperate enough to pay it, well...

Ok so for people wondering when you see a tub of Proraso for like $50+ on eBay or Amazon is because the seller ran out of stock of that item. Due to the algorithm of eBay and Amazon they'd lose their place in the search result. So they just figure jack up the price cause no one will be dumb enough to pay that much.
