In an effort to have us eat at least part of the time on the Mediterranean Diet, my wife today fixed Ribollita, a classic Tuscan soup. It was quite good, but maybe not worth all the effort.

I don't know of any dishes of today that stem from what royalty ate. Most dishes that survived until today are peasant dishes. It sounds delicious.

I think you have got right in one. It's a fine dish, but not worth the effort when I made it anyway! If someone cooked it for me, I would gladly eat it!

Alan, could you post or link to it? No guarantees for a recipe that I've never seen, I understand that, but I'm always on the lookout for a recipe I can eat and stay in ketosis.
