Recommend my next boar brush

I have a few Semogue boar brushes that I love.

The omega 1049 is nice too.

+1 for Zenith boars. I have the Big Boar B15, Olive Wood Handle and the Pro Big Boar B1, Aluminum Handle. Both are fun to shave with.

These brushes are really nice, they're well broken in (as I've mentioned before) possibly due to the fact that in the first year or two of having them I was using either the Dirty Bird or Bonnyman scuttles which have a fairly abrasive pattern of grooves in the ceramic. I don't use either of those scuttles with my finer brushes nowadays but it sure seemed to accelerate the development of those great split ends in the boar bristles.

These brushes are also pretty cheap which is a bonus.

I've got a Thater brush that I bought from a member. Really nice brush and I'd certainly buy again. I'll be picking up a Semogue next. Around $60. Actually I know the majority likes badger but I prefer boar brushes now. Strange but I do. Must be the massage and exfoliating factor.

Awhile back I picked ups Semogue Owners Club in boar. Man oh man oh boy! I refurb vintage and buy custome handles and even reknot brushes I own but don't like the knot. I learned long ago that a natural hair knot is a variable beast. They won't ever have the consistency knot to knot of a plissoft or tux synthetic. Some knots are just special and this is one of those.

I use only three boar brushes anymore, all Semogue Owners Club--Cherry, white porcelain and amber. (Sorry I can't remember the official names for the last two.) All three are brilliant. I also have a few smaller Omegas, but I really like the form factor and knots of the SOCs.

To me the best has been an Omega knot (from a 49 or and 89) set into an artisan handle nice and low.
Since I tried this configuration I lost interest in Anything else and sold several badgers.
