I think my RAD might be in remission if not cured by today's shave with the ATT S1. This is my third or fourth shave with it and though it was only a two pass shave, it was superb.

I avoid the razor subforums. Speaking of which I need a fire sale, 90% of my razors have been sitting in storage for years, it was a waste of money.

My RAD is easily controlled by buying and selling so I keep a fresh steady supply rotating

If I had of tried the 6S early on in my DE shaving experience it might have been my only DE I'd have but I do love all my others, RAD is starting to subside, I have a list, if it's not on it I'll pass so it makes it easier to resist.

Same here. It took me some time to find out what I both really liked and actually need. I used to be really into the old vintage DE's like the Slims and Fatboys but some of the new SE and all SS razors really started to stand out. Once i got my hands on a Rockwell 6S, it instantly became my preferred DE razor and i sold all of my vintage DE's except for a Slim that I just wanted to keep around.

The only razors I keep in collection these days are:
  • Merkur Futur
  • Gillette Slim
  • Rockwell 6S
  • Mongoose II SS satin
  • RR BlackHawk V2 (currently my daily driver)
  • the Merkur 34C clone head from Maggards w/ MR5 handle

Only new razor on the way is the Supply v2 Injector razor from Kickstarter.

Not if you like aggressive razors. I just wrapped up my turn in a passaround, and as much as I wanted to like this razor, I just couldn't. Not enough aggression, even with the 6 plate and a Feather.

As to the original question.
-I no longer buy anything Zamack. I'll keep my R41, Progress, and Futur, but not buying anything else that won't have true longevity.
-I know i like aggressive, so anything that isn't at least as aggressive as a Slim on 9 doesn't even get consideration.
-I know my sweet spot for handle length is around 3". Anything longer than 85mm is automatically out.
-I only buy when I have the cash in hand and budgeted for the purpose
-I only buy when I see a really good deal. I waited about 2 years to finally pick up my PAL adjustable (today). And I waited about 9 months to pick up my ATT H1 Atlas during the Bullgoose closeout. I even made it past the first set of drops there (luckily) since they dropped even further after a month or so.

I like your style. So you think the Rockwell 6S using a 6 plate with feather razor isn't aggressive? The only razor that I've owned that I consider more aggressive than this configuration is the Futur on the highest setting with a feather. I guess everyone's different.

I plan to die with my RAD still ragging; unless I run out of money first. I've tried self-control, but learned quickly that I was born without the self-control gene...

My usual cast of characters
-Fatboy on 11 (I have custom blade gaps two levels higher than usual)
-Slim on 9
-Progress at 6.5
-Futur on 6
-ATT H1
-Fatip
-R41 2013
-Old Type
-MMOC
