They are indeed pretty good, somewhere around Nacet and Permasharp.  I have heard the Platinum ones are even better, but they are even more difficult to source.

I purchased some of the Nacet Platinums back in 2019 BC (Before COVID). The are nice blades, even better than the Nacet stainless. I consider the difference between Nacet stainless and Minora stainless to be within the margin of error. Purchase which ever is less expensive. If you find either Nacet Platinum or Minora Platinum, grab a few.

I put a fresh Dorco Barber Red in the Soloedge and it was a fine shave. Keep a light touch with the combo! One thing I did was to completely clean all the pernicious wax from the razor. The Permasharps have a massive amount of wax that really gums things up.

Lots of edge feel. It will be interesting to see how the blade smooths out.

Minora Plats are $10 a tuck (used to be 5).  Might as well get one, just for the experience.

Someone on eBay is selling Gillette Rubie for $35/100. Actually not a terrible deal. They are great and maybe gone for good.

Good data on the Rubie can be found at the below link. Said to be extremely polished and smooth, but not the sharpest:

Also, someone on B&B tested the newer Rubies vs older Rubies and he said they are the same blade. The premium blade in the domestic Russian Market:

Great blades. I went through about 50 post some travels through the motherland. They were the only blades I could find. No Voshkhods in the pharmacies. Couldn't find any DE's in retail establishments.

Because of the way DE razors are designed, wax on the blade does not make much difference. However, with the Soloedge, wax can really gum things up. It has to clamp the entier blade tightly and wax interferes with that.

Shave #2 with a clean Soloedge and a Red Barber Dorco (Japan steel) was very good. Probably the ultimate blade for the razor. No wax, sharp, smooth and a precise split.

However, in the age of RR Cyber, the razor has been disrupted. The Cyber with an added SS handle is just better overall and of equivalent price. As to the cheaper Pearl Sleak, I don’t known if the Pearl Sleak is good though. It is less than $20 IIRC but the first version has serious design flaws.

I do recommend that everyone with a half DE razor check out the blade.
