Hi I have a raw shaving rs10 Razor with both the mild and aggressive plates, while it's a absolutely beautiful Razor I'm struggling to get great shaves with it. I'm finding it hard to find the right cutting angel and it's not that efficient. Just wondering if anyone knows the best angel with this Razor and also if anyone has tried both mild and aggressive plate what is your preference. Would appreciate any help thanks

This is one of the few razors I like a Feather blade in. I use the mild as a daily and an aggressive when I skip a day or 2. The angle just seemed to fall in place for me, probably close to 30-35 degrees

The breadth of experience you have with DE's is incredible. I'd like to see a pic of your hardware collection at some point...

Thank you my friend for the kind words.  I have only kept about 35 razors, When I get a new one I try to use it for a few weeks, then I evaluate if it can replace one of the razors in my collection and then I do a side by side shave and sell one of them.

That's very interesting as I use feather blades, what is your blade preference In this Razor? It sounds like you have alot of Razors what are your favourite and how does the raw shaving Razor compare do you think it's good?

It's been a while since I've used the rs-10. To me the aggressive plate is maybe mid-level efficiency and buttery smooth.
   Very nice razors.

I’ve got both but have only used the aggressive plate. Using primarily Polsilver and Nacet’s, I’ve always gotten amazing shaves. I hope you’re able to enjoy the RS10, it’s an amazing razor that I wish was still available!

Thanks alot, I think my problem with it is finding the right angle so hopefully I will be able to figure it out

I have received excellent results using Feather, PermaSharp, Gillette 7’Oclock Black, PolSilver and Gillette Stainless. The Feather and PermaSharp gave me the longest lasting BBS. As far as a favorite it depends on my mood and how much beard I need to take off.

For me what works for the Aggressive plate is Nacets or GSB, use a sharp blade. For the regular mild plate Wizamet or PolSilver (same blade) works best. It's definitely top tier smoothness if not the smoothest razor I had the pleasure of using. Don't give up on it, it's one of those razor that when it clicks you know it's a VERY special razor. For me it took about 2-3 weeks to find optimal angle. I prefer the Aggressive plate. GL
