You can get 2 to 3 razors (or 4 darts) for the price of one RS-18. Wolfman appears to be the same price of the RS-18.

Please dont take this as being antagonistic. Just putting math into the "price in line with others" comments I have seen.

I think he was comparing the price of the RS-10 with both base plates ($365) to other razors with 2 base plates also. The prices of the blackbird, att, timeless, etc with 2 base plates isn't much different than the RS-10.

ATT winsdor with 2 base plates is $290 ($75 less than the RS-10 with 2 base plates), ATT kronos $206 with 2 base plates ($159 less than the RS-10 with 2 base plates). Timeless SS with 2 solid bar base plates is $265 ($100 less than the RS-10 with 2 base plates). Blackbird and Dart only have one base plate so not extra expense but limited in custom-ability as compared to RS-10.

I can buy ATT kronos with 2 base plates and a dart for $305 and still have $60 left over for few synthetic brushes, soaps, steak, etc.

If you want to up the ante I can buy a Blackbird, Sabre, Vector, and Dart (4 razors) for $664 or RS-10 and RS-18 (2 razors, 1 base plate each) for $700.

two wolfman razors at current market rates is $745 USD or $45 more than the two RAW razors.

Using Math you need to add the cost of a polished razor from Blackland and Timeless plus for $365 for the RS10 you get 2 baseplates
Blackbird Polished w/ 2 plates $320
Timeless polished w/ 2 plates $310
ATT Windsor Polished w/ 2 plates $293
So yes the RS10 was slightly above these razors in cost, but still within $45-$72 and I own and enjoy these other 3 but none shaved like the RS10.
The main reason I started this post was to acknowledge that many people in this community enjoyed the Raw Shaving razor and appreciated Avi’s effort in providing excellent customer service not for people to question his pricing or his presentation, I understand it was a product not for everyone. There are many razors I dislike or would never purchase but I don’t waste my time or others slamming these razors or companies. If you don’t want to spend this kind of money on a razor, more power to you, as there are many affordable choices out there, spend your time talking about why you like them. Please don’t attack a company or razor you have never used or dealt with.

Let me know where I can buy 2 Wolfies for $745.   I'll buy them in a heartbeat.  Just don't point me to James' site; I tried for 2 years with no luck.  If you say this price is for one on the aftermarket then I believe.

At the same time I had my RS-10 like any other piece of hardware, from the source or retailers.  I’m sure you are aware of prices for BBS-1, 17-4, Weber, etc.  Let’s compare and put those in the bag too.  Now we are talking …

Some people are about quanitity and that's ok, but if you have ever used a Raw razor you will understand the price. It's more of an experience than anything.

Are there other razors in the premium line that are cheaper? Yes, but when you get into that price range I don't think that since you bought an ATT Windsor with 2 base for 75 less than the raw with two baseplates that the "savings" is going to make a difference in your life

The Blacklands,Timeless and ATT razors all made from 303 stainless steel. Raw made from 316 stainless steel which is a hugh step up. Also lets face it the Raw razors made in California where the manufacturing, taxes, labor are sky high. I haven't tried a Raw razor but will be very soon and will make a judgement is it worth the extra bucks. I have owned all those other razors so I know how the quality is and most important how they shave.

Thank you all for the good feedback. My point is RAW razors are not the same pricing as other razors. I believe this to be true. Regardless of the extra cost in design efforts, materials, state taxes, etc. they cost a lot more than most other razors. I took a look at RAW a few months ago and take a wild guess as to why I did not pursue any further. Is it sad that they closed? Sure.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

A few other prices compared to the RS-10 $325 and RS-18 $375
- Feather DE $20
- Edwin Jagger DE89 $40
- Merkur 34c $40

- Charcoal Goods Copper with Stinger $295
- Wolfman (no stand) $375
- Rocnel Sailor $395
- Paradigm Titanium (DE and SE) $395
- Feather DE with wood handle $599

I have never owned the RS razors and thus cannot compare quality or owner satisfaction. Actually, I never had any desire to buy the razor. I also recall reading many positive reviews.

Why are you all arguing about the cost of a product that is no longer made? Those who bought the razors and love them, congratulations for the great purchase! Those who didn't buy one and never wanted to, congratulations for the great savings! We all win.
