In my clearing I have these two Muhle razors.

The left one is in a Muhle paper box labeled R41.  The right one has no box.

I no longer can recall what is what.  Please help an old guy with identification so when I list them I can do so correctly.

I'm pretty sure the one on the right is the aggressive R41 because I swapped the Muhle handle for one with a more pronounced knurl for better control.

Thanks

The right is definitely the R41. Left looks like an R89 to me

Thanks. If the left is an R89, that's helpful. How can I tell if the R41 is the OG aggressive version? Seems I recall there were two versions of the R41

I don’t think you can - but shave with it using a new Feather blade.

If you see blood and it’s like a blood bath, chances are that it’s the old R41 pre 2011.

There are actually three versions of the R41.

They can be distinguished by the appearance and size of the head. Yours is definitely not the V1, as the combs look different.
The version from 2011 to 2013 is the V2 and from 2013 onwards it is the V3.

Version 2.0
Length of the top plate = 41 mm = 1.16in
Width of the top plate = 18.3 mm = 0.72 in
Length of the base plate = 41.35 mm = 1.63 in
Width of the base plate = 25 mm = 0.98 in

Version 3.0
Length of the top plate = 42 mm = 1.65 in
Width of the cover plate = 20.34 mm = 0.8 in
Length of base plate = 42 mm = 1.65 in
Width of the base plate = 25 mm = 0.98 in

I hope I have made the conversions correctly.

Yes. V1 > V2 > V3. It went less aggressive with each Version.

There are chinese heads which are in between V2 and V3, But I haven't found a good V2 or even a V1 clone.

The original V1's are hard to get.
