Those are some strange looking tool marks on the top cap. And it looks plated to me rather than polished, but it’s hard to tell. Then again, I also don’t see obvious signs of casting and the threads look good. Somebody buy it and cut it open.

I got a cheap off the bay supposed SS handle. Get what you pay for. Looks like it's plated....cheaply with something. Chrome? Looking in at the threads it looks yellow and is heavy. My guess was it's plated brass or who knows what. Was too cheap to fuss about. Hard to know you're getting what they say unless you do as Shane says and cut it up........... I wish Muhle would just go ahead and do this, although I've found I prefer my R41 baseplate paired with a DOC top cap.

I think it just looks like na R41. It lists a blade gap of 1mm and roughly neutral exposure.

These folks are on a cloning rampage right now. My Mamba 70 clone head hasn't even arrived yet, and they are now introducing an R41 clone in stainless steel. To be honest, I did buy a Chinese copy of the R41 in zamak and it shaved quite well. I also paired it with a Chinese copy of the Muhle handle. Of course this will fool nobody, but what is that thing they say about imitation....

BTW Blackland Razors , they are fooling around with CNC titanium also (I just got one of their handles today). The Ti Blackbird may be their next clone project.

Just stop buying clones... It sucks. Thanks.
