I use a phone book frequently. I did just a few days ago when I had to call around to find someone to get my roof shoveled off. But frankly, without the phone book and all the calls I made I would have an hour of my life back for all the good that it did. But the week before I was able to chase down really good snow/ice tires and saved money by using the phone book.

BTW, to find the roof shoveler I tried Google, Craigs List - but that was useless, as was Home Advisor. I finally had a light go off in my head and I wound up hiring a local teenager. He was happy to make an adult wage, and I didn't need to tell him what to do. He saw the job, got it done, and did it right. Plus he wants to do it again the next time it needs to be done. He has no insurance, but he's young and he knows how to land if he falls. He did that once while I was outside. Shoveled snow is very soft to land on/in if it's done right and he did.
