While I wouldn't call it "aggressive", some seem to have adopted the stance that
shaving goods' makers are beyond any sort of criticism.

I'm not on first name terms with any of these guys. We aren't buddies. I part with
decent cash for their wares, so I think can make observations that aren't flattering.

This thread started off as a heads up on drops....and only moved to a critique
when he showed up with 2 brushes after quite a hiatus. I think that's RIDICULOUS
and I don't even use badger brushes.

If the maker reads this commentary and decides to stop making brushes, then I
would have to question his resolve as well.

I used to give varlet a bit of stick for their prices in the past, but Ive seen his brushes now
look nicer...more choices but also more time taken to fulfil orders. No reason Wald couldn't
learn something here.

I have a lot of very nice badger brushes, but the Wald A1 synthetic jumped into my top 5 or so most frequently used pretty much immediately. I have three of them, one of each knot type (original bulb, new bulb, fan). I’m probably going to to keep the original bulb and new fan, since they’re the most different from each other. The new bulb is great too, but I don’t need three of them. I haven’t bought a new badger brush since getting my first A1 and that’s not likely to change anytime soon.

10 brushes: 8 synthetic, 2 badger.
Seriously...does anyone get any fun out of this business model?
Maximum stress scrambling to purchase... and only 10 guys get to smoke the
post coital cigarette.
Funny.

PS. Needless to say, I do not even try for such contests any more.

This is pretty darn funny.  We are talking shaving brushes right?

Show me a dude who has never participated in a drop and come out victorious Smile

FWIW, there are two A1s from the drop that are still currently available. So only 8 guys have "smoked the post-coital cigarette" this month (so far).

Interesting. Perhaps you could have looked at the price before complaining that nothing is available?

LOL...Im not his target customer....and this isn't a complaint...Just having a little whinge, as you do.
If he had a decent system in place I might consider a badger at some point....there is
NO way Id pay that for a synthetic.....for that price I could get 3 omega evos which
work amazingly well for me.

Wald’s A1 is very different from other synthetics. And, to a point you made earlier, yes, it is hand tied.
