They're a different company now and counting on the equity the brand name they acquired earned.

From the various forums and summaries I have read, there's an amalgamation of former shaving outfits under one umbrella company that is less than upfront about their common connection. Deliberately trying to appear as separate small to mid-size operations, that each had a history and existing customer base.

I think you nailed the primary reason in the change in the vendor's behavior. I love my Cobra Classic but I will not be ordering another.

Copy paste from wikipedia

"The customer is always right" is a motto or slogan which exhorts service staff to give a high priority to customer satisfaction. It was popularized by pioneering and successful retailers such as Harry Gordon Selfridge, John Wanamaker and Marshall Field. They advocated that customer complaints should be treated seriously so that customers do not feel cheated or deceived.Variations include "le client n'a jamais tort" (the customer is never wrong) which was the slogan of hotelier César Ritz, said, "If a diner complains about a dish or the wine, immediately remove it and replace it, no questions asked"

The customer need not know the behind the scenes minutia invoked with the practiced principle; that's Ray Donovans' job.

Good enough for me. I will not buy from them under any condition. That level of "service" is disgusting. Especially, as you said, companies go out of their way these days to offer great service.

It just takes one bad report like this to change many minds.

Good luck. I hope you get your money back.

The TGN Mission Statement

The Grooming Network (TGN) strives to offer the best selection of luxury wet shaving and personal grooming products. From manufacturing, white labeling and wholesale distribution, to retail websites, TGN is vertically and horizontally integrated in the grooming products industry.

Through a combination of name brands as well as proprietary brands handcrafted in America, TGN offers luxury and quality at competitive prices.

The Grooming Network not only focuses on selling to consumers, but are advocates for traditional wet shaving and luxury personal grooming. TGN operates several industry websites driven by consumer reviews that provide information and insight into the latest trends in wet shaving.

It is our mission to help consumers better understand the benefits of quality grooming products and to enjoy the art of traditional wet shaving.

It appears Not to be a customer centric model. The last sentence in the second to last paragraph is quite funny and ironic especially after reading through this thread. The last sentence takes the cake, lol

Well, PayPal has ruled against my dispute about the King Cobra. I'm trying to find out from PayPal more information about the reason why.

PayPal did, however, refund the money I paid for the Classic Cobra, which was ordered in March, but never arrived.

I have filed a claim with my bank, and will pursue it with them.

Oh, and here's a surprise. The Grooming Network did not allow the publication of the review they asked me for. As you might imagine, it was a one-star review.

Caveat Emptor...

Which other vendors did The Grooming Network buy? I would like to avoid them as well.

This is excellent exposure for the newly formed shaving conglomerate, TGN. I guess this is one of the sites they do not own, shill or monitor; not good press, even for free, lol. PayPal and cc, money refund issue set aside; although relevant are not the issue. I hope you can recover your cash loss through whatever means possible. Also, there are strict, complicated laws as to how, when and for how long a card can be charged with rgt availability, shipping, building etc. I digress. Does it compute that backtracking the issue, even with our limited info, leads back to them? That they are actually the one's preparing, grilling, serving the razor to be eaten?

What happened when Classic Shaving received the razor back?
