Can you define wobble for us? Is the base plate moving around or is there something else happening? Also, do you know if the seller polished the titanium on their own or if it was one of the few polished titanium razors we sold in the past?

There are just slight movement on the baseplate, I usually handtight all my previous blackbirds and don't notice this slight or tiny movement, I have the polished ti standard plate and the lite satin plate, I am able to handtight the lite plate with no movement, with the polished ti plate, I actually have to torque it down.

Basher has reached out to me, so appreciate everyone's help. Let me point out that it is not a big deal, its just a minor inconvience. I have never owned a polished TI so I am just asking, Thank you everyone!

I have one of the Blackland Razors polished Titanium Blackbirds and have no issues whatsoever, so this seems odd. Mine was polished by @"Blackland Razors. Maybe it was messed with?

I don't believe the seller was inform of it or lied to me. I want to exhaust all options before I return it as I do love the razor and only the standard baseplate gives that wobble. Its really smooth with the Lite plate, so I am guessing it shouldn't be the thread. I am guessing maybe the standard being polished is not even so it causes the wobble. Svoll I tend to agree with cornbread here in that it sounds like this is something you should take up with the person you bought this from. If that person had the razor I don't think you can say they weren't informed of it, they were selling you something they owned and (presumably) used and I doubt that something happened to that specific plate in transit. Meaning, they knew what they were selling you.
And to go along with that, I don't feel like Shane should be in a position to have to make this right. If an artisan had to be responsible for any damage or modifications to any razors that trade hands multiple times in the secondary market (after the return policy they already offer for original purchases) that would be a huge potential expense for them. If the person that sold this to you - or someone who owned it before them - did something to the plate that affects the tolerances and how it tightens up, that's not on Shane or any other artisan in a similar position to make up for.

Very valid points jesseix

I have just received the razor yesterday and after checking and testing it, I just noticed this slight wiggle or wobble with the standard plate, so I have already informed the seller as soon as I notice it and was curious about how others polished TI was to give me a general idea.

I emailed Blackland and Shane here yesterday with full transparency that I have brought it used and noticed this issue on the polished TI plate only and was asking suggestions if I should return it. I want to thank Blackland for your help and sorry for troubling you guys.

And if your issue doesn't get resolved, now is a great time to get a new handle as their BF sale on the blackbird has just started Smile Having said that, there should be no wobble and I do hope your issue gets resolved

Jesse9 and CBread make some GRRRRRRREAT points which REMIND us as BUYERS, we need to ask questions…………ALWAYS! A wobble isn’t going to be missed by ANYONE and non-disclosure of that indicates bad vibes.

Shane is one of the most visible hands-on Artisans in this pond. He makes everything right and goes above and beyond in my opinion. Can things go wrong even for an Artisan like Shane with Gold Standard? Of course it can. Secondary Market items aren’t his responsibility tho, that’s common sense implied.

Sorry you have to go through this because THAT razor is MOST AWESOME. Contact the seller, return the razor.  Don’t feel bad about your hard earned monies being returned to you.  If the seller is a stand up guy you’ll have zero issues.  That razor needs to be put out of commission before it’s passed to someone else.  

There’s no doubt in my mind Shane will take care of you on a NEW kit if you reach out when you get your monies back and remind him of this thread…..YOU can bet on that.
