I recently brought a used polished Blackbird TI and noticed when I tighten it up, there is a slight wobble with the standard polished TI plate. I have to tighten it quite a bit in order for it to be steady. I also have a satin Lite Plate and it doesn't have that problem.

I have previously owned a Blackbird TI satin before I sold it for the polished Ti and that also don't have the wobble issue.

Any owners of the polished version notice this issue?

Thanks in advanced!

None that I've noticed but will check it out this morning though.

I’ve owned a few Ti BB’s in my day. Never had any wobble in it and the baseplate (either lite or standard).

You could get an 8mm m5 washer and it should eliminate if you are worried about over-tightening.

I'd just email Shane and he'll sort it out for you

Absolutely not ok. And don't try to remedy with a washer. I would return it to the seller at once as this is a defect that should have been disclosed. This has happened with two previous razors for me (timeless and wolfman) and both times was faulty threading.

And for clarity my blackbird doesnt wiggle at all. No razor should unless it's a spring loaded adjustable.

I don't believe the seller was inform of it or lied to me. I want to exhaust all options before I return it as I do love the razor and only the standard baseplate gives that wobble. Its really smooth with the Lite plate, so I am guessing it shouldn't be the thread. I am guessing maybe the standard being polished is not even so it causes the wobble. Lets see what Blackland says, I have email and pm them.

Thanks all for you input and suggestions!

The polish has nothing to do with a loose fit. The polishing takes off a micron of material. Good luck.

The threads fit the lite baseplate without issue.

Hard to know for sure it is the standard base plate, but I would look deeper there.

Correct on the washer but i use one anyhow, for 5 dollars for 100.

Can you define wobble for us? Is the base plate moving around or is there something else happening? Also, do you know if the seller polished the titanium on their own or if it was one of the few polished titanium razors we sold in the past?

I'm thinking a video of what it is doing to show Shane the problem instead of trying to explain it would be best here...
