Have any of you used the 'Cube' pre-shave soap from PAA and found that it actually made their lather drier and less slick? I wash my face and neck with it first and then apply it against the grain as instructed. I then wet the face and lather on top as it's supposed to be a lather booster, but I'm finding it isn't adding any real slickness and seems to worsen the lather.

Is it just me?

I wash my face with it and leave it lathered up on my face and just lather my shaving soap over it with my brush. My shaves have been smooth and comfortable and my soap doesn't dry out. I really like the menthol blast I get from it. Sounds like you need to add a little more water to your lather maybe.

I've got the non-metholated Cube and I've not noticed any drying of the shave soap when I use it. Typically I just use it to wash my face in the shower, but occasionally I have used it the same way you described. I've never had any problems with it.

Hmm, you must be right. I did think I was adding enough but I'll increase the water and see if that fixes it. Thanks!

Yeah, it must just be me not adding enough water to it. I'll try again!
