I've heard great great things about Phoenix Beau. Definitely in my next purchase list along with some other soaps which I want to try in September.

Evening all,

An update on 'Star Noir' in that the excellent team at Maggards will be receiving 80 jars in early October. Here's hoping the consignment enjoys a smooth and unimpeded journey through US customs  Smile. In the interim our pre-order concludes at 2359hrs (GMT) this coming Friday and we've had tremendous interest in this, our latest seasonal offering. A quick note on that, in fact; we've had much discussion on these shores regarding what will it smell like. Is it a like for like replica of Nose Michel Almairac's beautiful scent Minotaure or will it smell like 'Joop'?

The quick answer is no and what I can tell you is it is an amorous scent, floral, woodsy, sweet with a touch of musk.  It's a shape shifting and layered construct that presents different notes from bloom through to your final pass.

I love it  Smile .

Whilst we're dealing with many moving parts, e.g. choosing its vessel and finalising artwork, we're still (perhaps rather ambitiously) targeting the 30th September as a release date for the first wave of our solid cologne. We haven't yet finalised the running order yet but it's likely it'll be Spitfire, Albion and Citra Royale as the first runners and riders for release.

Outside of this I'm putting our after shave tonic through its paces and working on its final formulation - more on that as we approach finalisation.

Kerry.

Hi everyone,

We're running a weekly photo competition whereby one of our 4oz soaps is up for grabs. Please have a read of the rules below. As it's still unseasonably warm in the UK I thought I'd kick things of with 'Denali'.

Questions or queries; please send them my way.

With kind regards,

Kerry.

Hi Kerry,

I am about to order a soap of yours. I was in the Obsidian Passaround, thanks to Avnish, and experienced the ammonia scent problem. It was pretty strong and while the performance of the soap was very good, I didn't enjoy it because of this scent problem. My question is, did you resolve this problem? I read that some other users had that problem as well and I am hesitant at the moment, since I really don't want to buy a soap and experience this problem again. It's obvious that the soap doesn't like the heat and it was delivered to me extremely soft, like a cream. Again, I really liked the performance of the soap, it's one of the best I've tried, that's why I want to buy one if you resolved the ammonia scent problem. Living in a warm country, the summer ends on mid October sometimes here, it's a risk for me to buy a soap that doesn't like the heat and turns bad.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the question. The quick answer is yes.

I sought advice from my peers and have extended the curing period to a minimum of 1-month. The soap is a soft one to begin with and I feel that the longer cure makes it more robust and does away with any threat of ammonia. Equally I have tested Denali (extremely soft, even for a PB soap) by exposing it to approximately 35 degrees Celsius for three continuous days with no ill effect to consistency or scent. What I'm unable to do is account for what happens to my soap once it leaves me here in the UK and what temperature it is exposed to whilst it sits in the back of a postal van / truck / is out for delivery / waiting for the customer to retrieve it from an oven like mail box.

As a precautionary measure, before you order, may I suggest that you wait until summer has finished?

I'm confident that my soap matches the very best of them out there and if you're anything less than 100% satisfied with it I'll refund your purchase. Lastly, please be reassured in that I have sent my soap to other parts of the globe which are particularly arid / humid and /or very hot, e.g. Turkey, Cyprus, Greece (Thessaloniki and Tripolis), Spain, Portugal, Brazil, southern states of the US and Singapore. No reported issues and plenty of very happy customers.

With kindest regards,

Kerry.

I have I believe (4) P&B soaps, three from Maggard's and one from Connaught. All delivered here in Austin, albeit with slightly cooler than normal temps for July/August.

None have the reported ammonia smell @"nikos.a" . Not sure when the adjustments were made but I am very happy with the soaps received from KerryPB .
