Hi Kerry, I don't mean this to sound impertinent, but I'm curious to hear why the Kickstarter tallow soap is 2 to 3 times the price of the tallow soaps ordinarily offered on your site. Is the formula improved or is it strictly because it's a one-time offer? I think P&B soaps are very good in general -- will the scent of Britannia be stronger than the regular line?

Hi UngerWoo , while I can't speak for Kerry on this, the P&B kickstarter campaign is just the second one of these that I've participated in, Rockwell 6c being the other one. I think the P&B campaign is meant to be a true fundraiser / kickstarter whereby backers are making a contribution (beyond the cost of the reward) to the future growth of the company and the product is a reward where as the Rockwell campaigns were basically pre-order campaigns where you pledged an amount at or below the intended market price for the item. I guess if you think about it, P&B wouldn't be able to fund the purchase of new equipment if the pledge amounts were the same as the retail price for their products because there wouldn't be any surplus beyond the cost plus a small profit margin. I see this as making an investment in P&B's future and not just picking up some cool stuff (it is that too though).

Hi Kerry, I just received the email notification that your Kickstarter has not achieved the target funding objective within the allotted time period. I am very sorry that this project has not worked out for Phoenix and Beau but I want you to know that I believe in your product and your goal to take P&B to the next level. This is just a setback along the road. I am sure that you and Sarah will take what you can in learnings from this experience, regroup and continue toward your goal stronger for having done it.

Thanks Mark, you're a gentleman.

Whilst it's a shame we didn't hit our funding target it has nonetheless been a great experience and tremendous fun to put together. We'll apply the many lessons that we've learned from the campaign and apply them to our next project.

It's something very different to this one and all I can tell you for now is its current codename is 'Phantom' Smile

Keep those eyes peeled!

Cheers,

Kerry.
