It's official: Schick Proline and Kamisori blades both work great in the razor. Presumably Kai then as well, and of course Feather. What will NOT work are those wire guard blades. The razor is not aggressive, shouldn't be needed.

Beautiful razor, i love the styling, it has a classic look and yet it is something new and unique, most of the new SE razors look like one sided DE razors. I also appreciate the angled grip, it probably handles more like an Injector or GEM style razor than an DE.

If i may ask, why do the guarded blades don't work, is it because they are thicker? I'm curious because they usually fit every razor that takes the unguarded version of the blade. What about the Feather Professional Super, will they work? When do you think the razor will become available?

Sorry for the many questions, please keep up the good work.

The blade sits on the bottom plate. There is some pressure exerted on the blade by the top plate — a bit difficult to explain how in a way that will make sense here. The razor has been designed to accommodate a .254mm blade. There's just no extra room. Feather Professional Supers don't fit at .31mm, no way will the Proguards fit at .35mm.

The shave is already quite good, not too aggressive or too mild, and efficient. We are tweaking it to get the last bit of performance. Honestly, I can't imagine wanting to use either a guarded blade or a super aggressive blade. It's like a DE in that respect; it performs within a certain normalized range. Between Feather Pro, Kamisori, Kai, and Schick Proline, you are sure to find something that works for you. I personally am liking the Schick Proline and the Kamisori at this stage of development.

We are getting a new CNC mill within the next few weeks, hopefully adding a third not too much after that. So I don't think it will be too long before the razor is on the market. May 1, perhaps, maybe even sooner? Also, it should be available in sufficient quantity to meet demand.

Version 2.0 of prototype should be ready today or tomorrow. Not radically different from 1.0. Blade changes are easier, and we tweaked the shave. Or tried to. Some of that is voodoo, so we'll see if changes to shave actually improved anything. Can always make further changes. Top cap is now a bit more streamlined. I'll post some more pix soon.
