Paradigm releasing a new razor

Let me get this straight. Is the Salient actually a previously released razor designed and manufactured by ds cosmetic? And made by ds cosmetic today?

I hope Paradigm Shaveware has the courage to set the record straight here.

As someone who bought the razor, I am interested to know.

I dont want to talk bad about it or something else - I just want to know what happend and why this razor DS-OR is looking the exact same like the Salient. Maybe even he wasnt aware of that DS is using his design - but it would be great to read some clearing words. Its nothing against him or the salient or even paradigm - but for me as a customer I want to know the real story behind that. Its bad when a release turns out bad so I hope things will turn out the right way. The Salient is a good razor - no doubts but its the circumstances which annoy me

Can agree on that. Mild&Efficient - a very nice shaving combo. Maybe there will be some clearing words to sort this topic out

It amazes me sometimes when people start grasping at straws on these sites and it becomes something that makes no sense at all. I for one am not defending Paradigm here and from everything I've seen so far am amazed how anyone can make a comparison and think these are the same razor or even have a likeness of one another!! On B&B they are comparing it to a flat bottom tech and no mention of the Paradigm in the thread at all.

From the pics I've seen the Paradigm has a flat top cap and the DS is rounded, the plates are clearly different with the DS on the downward angle of the SB being longer than the Paradigm not to mention the handles aren't even close to being the same!! Am I missing something here?

I also have to agree with Tester28 that this drop was doomed from the start for a company that was trying to dig their way out of a hole they created and believe there is no turning back from this in any way moving forward!! His communication has been non existent during the entire process and except for 1 or 2 people here and there that have had discussions with him and have relayed those convo's have been a complete failure and it all reflects on him!! If he ever wanted to make a comeback he should've considered bringing back the Ti-1 or the 17-4 in their original specs, materials, and larger qty's to the masses and that would only be a start but that clearly wouldn't set right with his faithful as the re-sale values would basically cease to exist....truly sad overall....

What if it was just a small custom order from a Chinese manufacturer and all that was done was a few tweaks here and there, slap your own name on it and call it a day?

Just more questions than answers at this point. 

As many have noted, the handle being a huge part of the change that was quite a departure from his earlier of what I would consider masterpieces in razor design. 

Everyone's copying everyone these days, good, bad or ugly, that's really up to the buyer and if it makes sense to them. 

Here's a razor handle that if I wanted to bullshit you, I would say it's "The 17-4 version #2" in the works. But it's not. Bonus points if anyone can guess the manufacturer.

B&B has their own Salient thread where this topic was discussed with the link Ive posted earlier. Said before that the OR razor had some grinding/quality issues and was stopped - I see clearly similarities between these two. Like an updated or fixed version. But its overall great to discuss these topics from different view points. Also sooner or later your product may be copied or even faster when you let them produce in this country

So your gonna stay with the fact your saying that 2 different razors, neither one has the same top cap design, neither has the same dimensions on the safety bar, and neither has the same handle are the same razor? The link you posted wasn't even a Paradigm thread, for starters maybe you should've posted that link instead!! I don't really care who made what handle as that has no bearing on the post I made, but if you still stand by your comments that those 2 razors are the same you have the right to think so, but I also have the right to not bullshit you and tell you straight up they are different from every aspect of the designs and have absolutely nothing in common other than they are of Chinese Mfg'r and that is it!!
