I had my eye on this one. I have been wanting a 26mm sumo and I think the lapis looks great in this shape. I also enjoy the current knots. I do think there is a difference between the 2CSLD4 & 2CSLE4 knots. Both have good backbone but I find the D4 a bit more scrubby than the E4. My E4 has soft hooked/gel tips.

I got my first choice and my friend Hunter got my second choice. This is a 28mm knot with lots of loft which attracted me to it.

SUMMER OF LOVE: Tie dyed shirts, black light posters, lava lamps and Western civilization was going to implode because of it all. I used to go to the Simi Swap meet at the old drive in on weekends. There was a guy named 'the rabbit man' who lived up in the hills trapping rabbits and crafting jackets and purses who came down monthly to sell and buy supplies and check his mail. He received his draft notice at the nearby post office and tossed it in the trash as nonchalantly as an advertisement. You could buy huge posters of THE BEATLES, EASYRIDER, HENDRIX , incense and these thick leather belts with flower stamping painted in bright colors. Mine had a brass buckle of welding rod in the shape of a mushroom and if a girl liked you she would embroider flowers on your Levi bellbottoms. there was a creepy group hanging out at Spahn ranch who sometimes showed up. I almost ran him over in my MGA twin camm coupe on the OLD PASS ROAD late at night with PINK FLOYD on my state of the art cassette deck. there was another cult called FOUNTAIN OF THE WORLD up in BOX canyon that split from the OPR. they walked around in robes with full beards and long hair, sitting in IHOP with multi stacks of dollar pancakes smelling, eating with their hands and mumbling some new age mumble jumble. The guru slept with a member's wife. He shot the leader and blew up the buildings with dynamite. The John Birch society organized a 'night to support the war.' They were going to drive around honking their horns for everyone to turn off all lights at 8P.M. and some US space mission would see us go black fro space or something. It was a miserable failure and they blamed communist provacateurs. The chapter president's son was the star quarterback of our HS team. He received his draft number of 365 and his father threw a celebratory Party and published photos in the local paper. I got in a fight with him and two other team members who decided I was a homo. I broke his arm, was suspended for assaulting him. We lost every game that season except the final with crosstown rival Simi HS. My friend Dan got lucky # 1 and I #7. He enlisted out of HS in the USMC and I followed later in the USCG. I was in serving in SF on Treasure Island and somebody decided we needed more uniforms in public to promote enlistment and I wound up a SP in the then vibrant gay district. I walked in the famous OIL CAN HARRY's to get a coffee from Bruce ( yes, Bruce) the bartender who I befriended at city Lights bookstore. We never understood what officer thought a SP beat on Castro would help enlistment but it was the safest neighborhood unlike my friend who drew the Tenderloin. And there, there on a stool trying to hide his face was my old football hero nemesis sitting on a bar stool with a badly broken nose. I asked him if he had called someone a H again and Bruce wanted to hear the whole story. Bruce alter confided he was pretty conflicted and nobody liked him much.
I finally came home and what my brothers didn't steal my mother threw away. She figured a vet wouldn't want all that hippie rubbish. I figure that rubbish would be worth five figures by watching auction house prices today. So, from Summer of Love Simi with all kinds of crazy people to a overbuilt clone of any other in SOCAL I fled northwards again to University. Only now I was older and it was disco and easy listening.

I missed out on my target, I was out today when it went live. One of these days I'll definitely get that gorgeous brush. Congrats mates!

That Lapis Sumo looks Outstanding! I wish I Face lathered, one of those in 26mm would definitely be on my short list!

So face lather with one and bowl lather with your other brushes. Problem solved. 30 days to pay my consultation fee of two cents..

Doc47 that brush is beautiful! Paladin's Ivory is my very favorite, the pictures don't do it justice, it's simply stunning in person.
Thanks for letting me snag that PK-47 in Disco Haze, my Sausage fingers couldn't type fast enough and then I got the PayPal wheel of death and I didn't think I had a chance. Thankfully Ken and his Family have been turning them out on a fairly regular basis, so if there's something in particular your looking for it shouldn't be long before you have a shot at it. My problem is I like almost everything I see from them...

I'm of the same opinion regarding the difference between those two knot codes.

I am reminded of the opening monologue in JEREMIAH JOHNSON " He got himself a Hawken. It was only .32 caliber, but by God a real Hawken." It wasn't that long ago people were falling on their razors in despair over acquiring one. Now people are more selective knowing their combination will eventually come along or the recent multi deal in lemon drop Lotus' that made everyone happy.
