The hair selection and construction are very highly tuned. You can get a sense of this from reading the knot notes. We've made good progress. It has taken a lot of time and effort. And you can never relax.
Those are some nice collections. I'm a big fan of Paladin brushes. I like how he categorizes the knots with codes. Once you find a find a knot you like, you just have to look for the same code.
Here's my butterscotch collection:
The Buck Rogers, Chief, and El Dorado are all 26mm. The Falstaff, Lotus, PK-47, and Winston Churchill are all 28mm.
Here's the rest of my Paladin's:
These are all 26mm knots, except for the Disco PK-47, it's 28mm.
I was fortunate to capture this Cleo last night:

Ken I've bought four of your brushes over the past year and they are my absolute favorite brushes in the world. An amazing thing happened after I acquired them: I found I no longer need anymore brushes. I'm solid. Currently since I don't feel like I need anymore brushes I am to the point that I would only want one more brush, and that would be a 28mm Lotus in Ebony. I will keep waiting on it.
Having a baby this year, moving into my first house, and getting down to one income a few months ago has helped also curb my enthusiasm for new shaving gear.
I definitely always keep an eye on Paladin.
Well my weekend started off right. A second batch "Kansas City-London" Chief in Butterscotch Marble came up on another forum and I nabbed it. I've always wanted a Chief in this color and the PK-47 I have from the same batch has what might be the best knot I've ever experienced. The strongest 2-band hair with tips that are scratchy/crunchy when dry and clumpy/gooey when wet. If the knot on this brush is even close, it's going to be a keeper for sure. Sometimes you just get lucky...
