I’m not positive, but I would imagine that it’s due to the increased cost for materials, as well as the increased time/effort it takes to turn, finish, and engrave the Ebonite. Ken goes into some detail regarding Ebonite on the Paladin website if you’re looking for more information.

no worries. Can't imagine that ebonite costs much more than acrylic resin. More that Paladin is a boutique brush. Actually there is one listed at $230. Guess they sell out quickly. Those ebonite brushes sure do look pretty!!!

A trio of ebonites arrived recently; stunning. I’ll post additional pics this weekend:

ChiefThunder - I really liked the Sherlock & hoping for more. I ended up trying to help a friend with an ebonite brush.

I did purchase a PK47 26mm in Sand on previous release - still sitting on my home office desk for my viewing pleasure.

Paladin “Butterscotch” Chief in Ebonite. This Brush is Beautiful in person, my picture doesn’t do it justice. It’s definitely not one of the most exciting of the Ebonite Brushes, but it reminds me of an “Antique Butterscotch” Shave Brush that has been polished to perfection. I absolutely love it, Thank You ChiefBroom!

Hunter,

I was going back and forth between the Ponceau and the Butterscotch. It is a beautiful brush and its rarity makes it exciting. Enjoy.
