This brush is a mystery to me.  Purchased over 3 years ago, has come up in rotation 5 or 6x….. every time I prepare to slide it to soak in water a pressing emergency has come up.  This brush has yet to be used and doesn’t come up in rotation until late December 2023.  This will be my final try, if it’s not meant to be, it travels to a DFS Member in Canada and I patiently wait for a 28mm Vesuvius Chief

Alex…. Niro884 has the right to first refusal and then it’s fair game.  Like I said above, there’s some sort of Black Magic Voodoo spell on the brush, lol.  I’ve attempted to use it 5-6x and the unknown forces have prevented the brush from even getting wet with water!  These aren’t ordinary occurrences either…… last time I was going to soak, phone rang and I was recalled to London immediately, prior to that I had to evac my hotel in Mexico, Earthquake, before that, Tornado Sirens…not the ordinary sirens either…first time ever, had to take shelter in the underground parking structure of my residence, I live in a high rise, we don’t get tornados in Chicago, yet the thing leveled everything in its path for 3 miles, Missed us by a half mile! I can’t publicly cite the other occurrences but after that many attempts to use the brush, writing might be on the wall lolololol.

In terms of aesthetics…… brush is one of the most unique Vesuvius pours I’ve ever seen.  The front is clean, regal, not busy, the back side is opposite!

Thank you for the additional photos. The brush does look very special and learning about your experience with it makes this Samurai a true collector's piece. I will wait patiently, but I would be surprised if Niro decides to pass on it. Smile

I love how stunning that handle came out!!! Curious how many brushes do you have and how do you plan your brush rotation out? For me I have been using one brush maker for an entire month and switch to another maker the next month. Right now my rotation is DG, TNS, Mozingo/Varlet, All Others. My last group "All Others" has Paladins, Trotter, Grizzly Bay, C&H, V&C, and SV

I have a question for the Paladin lovers. What is the difference between the Oumo Knot & Badger Select at Paladin? I have only had/used the Badger Select from them. I am currently looking at getting one of the Dark Holler Jacks in Ivory but unsure which knot to get.

Also, does anyone have a picture of the satin Ivory vs polished Ivory?

I have the 2021 Jack 28mm in Black Satin & a Jack 26mm in Butterscotch Polished. So I thought getting an ivory one would be a cool way to close out the set. Though I do have a really cool Skull & Snake handle I assume in the Ivory (not sure if it's satin or polished) with a Mozingo ZT4 knot. [Image: hh6C0DX.jpg]

Oh, I forgot here are my other two Paladins. I had a Chief in Tigris but I gifted it to my brother and regret it because it was stunning!! I really need to add some more to my collection.
