My problem is I sell off soaps and later regret it. Selling Night Music was the dumbest thing I've done. And of course I learned after that Will has no plans to release it ever again. Live and learn I guess.

Well I tried it again today PAA's Sangre de drago and it's lousy. Smells like stale rootbeer. Club guy stinks as does gandolier & cad. The sandlewood is fair at best. Oh well off to the next maker. I'm going to give Ginger's Garden a try I spoke with her and she's going to make me something custom that she thinks she can get close to Charles Revsons Braggi. I'm going to give it a try. I will probably sample 4 others from her as well.

Wow! Scents are subjective but that's about the worst experience I've heard for the number of scents you tried. Did you read the scent profiles before buying? Good luck with Gineger's Garden.

Edit: Sorry for the comment above which I edited but it is quoted. If the scents stink they stink. Ymmv and all that of course.

I could think of more respectful ways to describe an experience with scents I don't like.
I actually found his descriptions to be honest and well described. If they stink, they stink, why try to say is less bluntly.

Surely we haven't come to the point that we can't say something sucks without having to worry about hurting someone feelings or offending the maker.

Fair enough. I shouldn't have said anything. My apologies to Greg. If a scent stinks it stinks.

Actually the scents are okay in a soap but not for an aftershave. To use them up I just poured them in an unscented soap lathered it up and they were fine. And I really prefer cologne instead of aftershave I already put enough on my skin I don't need to put aftershave on there as well so for me a cologne is better for me to wear out.

I remember you saying they were fine in soap but not for aftershaves and I know what you mean by that too. There are a lot of scents I enjoy using as a soap but do not want to smell like the rest of the day. I'm more into darker scents like Leviathan, Lavanille, and Stirling Gentelman. However, I probably wear Executive Man more than anything, and more recently Colbeck. Those are great summer scents, but once the cooler months come around I'll be back to the darker scents.

I hope you find what you're looking for at Ginger's Garden or elsewhere. Also, sorry once again for my comment earlier.

To bad I can't ask everyone to send me a tiny sample of their favorite soap scent. I might go broke buying samples from all the soap makers trying to find two or more scents that I like. Oh well just have to suffer and endure the horror of it all.
