I'm not sure if anyone has already started a thread for this razor but I want to start one if not.

I picked up the PAA DOC razor a couple of weeks back but didn't get a chance to try it until this morning. I did a head to head comparison with the ikon #102 slant which I love. all I have to say is Wow! What a nice, comfortable and efficient little razor. I stuck the head on to an ikon OSS stainless steel handle to give it a bit more heft. It performed flawlessly and compared very favourably to the 102. Given the wide price disparity the PAA DOC is excellent value as well. I believe its now offered in aluminum and also stainless steel but a bit higher price.

I like this DOC better than the PAA bakelite slant - both gave a decent, drama free shave no nick or weepers but the DOC is significantly more comfortable IMO.

Cutting Edge Soap

Someone else did a very positive review on one of the other shaving sites. This razor has me somewhat interested so I'll have to keep an eye on it to see how the other reviews come in. I'm not ready to pull the trigger on it yet but it's on the radar.

I have the original DOC and really liked it. I bought the new aluminum/more aggressive DOC this week. I'm going to use it in a couple of hours.

I would love to hear your impression of the new more aggressive model, I have the original but find it a little too tame.

I will just say that this one is WAY more aggressive than the original DOC. I didn't find it harsh at all, but there is A LOT more blade feel on this one. I don't have sensitive skin at all so it didn't bother me, but I know that there were some that were wondering. The angle was easy to find. BBS with two passes aggressive, but smooth. It's a keeper for me. Be careful though. I have used the original DOC many times very carelessly and didn't even nick myself. This one bit me on the adams apple, but that was my fault. I was getting such a great shave I caught myself on the XTG pass when I was almost done and not paying attention.

For those that wanted a more aggressive DOC this is it for sure. It's funny to me though. You have the original on the mild end, and this one is on the other end. Not a 10 out of 10 aggressive, but I would give it a solid 8.

JMO though. I am curious to hear what others think.

Hmm... that sounds great but scares me a bit, Dan. Performance-wise is there another razor you would liken this too?

Thanks for the feedback. I am tempted to buy the DOC in steel or aluminum but they appear to be completely different razor designs than the original zamack DOC. From your feedback I'd say that they are and I'm not really looking for another aggressive razor right now.
