This is by far my favourite razor. I sure hope other people get an opportunity to get one of these.

Nuki Man  I recall you saying you liked the aluminum version when it came out.  Is that still the case now that you have the SS versions?  Did you use the aluminum one as is or did you change handles (heavier)?  I need to give mine another shot but I did not enjoy it the times I did use it. I just didn't care for the weight.  I did try a heavier handle but the head is so light I did not care for it that way either.   I've heard some say that the SS may be a touch milder.  That could be many things including using to much pressure with the lightweight aluminum.  I understand the AC blades are very sharp but they also are cutting a wider path of whiskers. Trying to decide if I would be willing to take a chance on the SS if it becomes avail due to my experience with the Chrome aluminum one.

Anyone else please feel free to chime in if you have tried both.

Thanks.

I used the aluminum version of the hawk with a heavier handle. I also used the general with a heavier handle. For some reason the SS HAWK works really well for me. I find that the width can be an issue on the lower part of my neck and so I usually shave this area with only a half the razor and keep the other half of the razor lifted slightly. I used the SS HAWK 5 weeks straight and shaved every day with no issues. I tried the Kai Mild and the Kai Guard blades and both worked well for me.

I am putting this one aside for a while to try out the Wolfman SB with a 0.61 gap and I'm finding the Wolfman feels a little rough compared to the SS Hawk.

Thank you, great info. I only tried the Feather Pro''s so maybe I need to give the Kai Mild a try as well. I can always cut them down and use in my injectors to.

After using a standard gap Wolfman SB for the past 3 weeks, I've come back to the DLC SS Hawk and I like it way better than the Wolfman. It is really an amazing SE razor and works well with any of the blades available. I highly recommend keeping an eye out for them when Joe produces more
