So, I hope that we as consumers can come to a verdict in this case and execute a fair and permanent justice.

So which side/story do you believe/support?

Considering the seriousness of the Claims and Counterclaims, I would like to see the rest of the evidence (reviews form everybody who got a sample) before rendering judgement. I specifically want to see if anyone can confirm or deny that this razor is made from old parts, whether the current parts are fungible with REX Ambassador or whatever the previous razor was, etc.

Having owned both a Rex and a Denali this razor does not appear to me to made from old parts at all. This is coming from someone that is returning the razor.

All,

Let's focus on the actual razor itself, not the back & forth drama between the two companies. The lawyers & courts can handle that, if need be.

I can't have my limited time sucked up for stuff that has 0 to do with DFS...

With that in mind, keep the focus on the razor itself or I'll lock this thread and all future threads.

I guess I missed the Posts that were comparing the 2 companies. I'm focused on the razor itself....

1st shave with this razor. I'd like to at the outset say that it's disappointing that some razors are coming out for individuals that purchased a razor and are having alignment issues. I saw a video yesterday where the person after doing a video and had a good shave with his later said it had an alignment issue on a subsequent shave and cut him pretty bad. He pulled the good shave video so as not to influence people to buy and he have regrets of them getting a bad one on his endorsement. Mine seems to be good on the first shave but the fact that this company is starting off with controversy I would think Quality Control would be of the upmost importance and ALL razors would be ensured to be good when shipped, especially to those that spent their hard earned money on them.(That's 2 that I know of now) I just want to be upfront and get that concern out of the way first and foremost. On to my 1st shave.

As stated when the razor arrived yesterday, mine appears to be of good quality and by all appearances right now there are no alignment issues. I rolled the settings up and down numerous times to see if it would change at all. It to the eye appears to be fine. At setting one I dragged it down my cheek to get a feel for the blade feel and felt nothing. So this morning I decided to set it at the full stop of 6.5 on the dial and have a go. The shave was smooth and effective. 1 little grab on my old man neck skin that flapped and got caught but nothing really to speak of. At that wide a gap I should have been more careful on those side strokes but got lulled to inattention due to the smoothness it was shaving. 1st shave in the books and no issues. I will try various settings even though that is not the norm for me since I just find the setting that works and stick to it even on adjustable razors. The reason for varying it is to see if any issue arises when it gets manipulated up and down as many will do when using theirs. Looking forward to others thoughts on this razor as they get their shaves in and hope all will post something whether good or bad so we get "The Facts" on this razor. It can be done respectfully even if a bad experience is had. Honesty is needed to be of any value for others to make an informed decision for themselves as well as for the Company to have a chance to fix things noted thru this feedback. I had actually purchased this razor a couple weeks ago before this situation unfolded. 

I would like to first start off by saying I would agree that these razors should be showing up on your doorstep ready to go. This is not a dig at the company but just my honest opinion. Having been in business for decades, quality control should not be one of the issues that you are dealing with. Also, had I been the one offering free razors to get my name out there, each razor would have been inspected prior to packaging and any alignment issues corrected beforehand. Not a great first impression. 

With that said I did receive a properly aligned razor and I found the fit and finish to be of high quality. My only gripe would be one that is easily fixable.  That is with the markings on the collar. If they were recessed and the alignment dot on the selector more pronounced, it would improve the overall appearance and function of the razor. 

On to the shave. I started my first pass at setting 6. It was very smooth but with a significant amount of blade feel. My two consecutive passes were dialed down to setting 3, which for me was very comfortable and smooth. I found myself using the combed bar over the straight bar throughout my shave. It does offer a different feel, which I preferred from the straight bar. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and the one thing I was surprised by was the effeciency. With 9 out of 10 razors I am having to shave within 2-2.5 days. After this shave I almost went 4 days without having the same amount of stubble grow back. I don’t know if it was a fluke but I will be shaving with this razor once again and reporting back on my subsequent experience with it.

Well I did not see this about oliworks, but one good thing I found this forum. I have the ambassador, and have this razor on the way. Did not know anything about all this and was just trying to support an American business. I love my ambassador so thought this would be a good addition. Razor emporium has been excellent to deal with. I know to check the alignment now and when it arrives I will compare it and post pics. If it has issues I will have to send it back. We will see. Brand new here and only heard about oliworks from Barry on YouTube a Texan shaves. He did an unboxing but is not reviewing so I started searching and this forum popped up.

clint64 Did you release the razor handle when you set it to 6.5? It's not as if you tightened the handle at setting #1 and then adjusted the dial from #1 to #6.
