Unless I misinterpreted something, this was their reply. I did notice the blade gaps are different compared to the ones on the Rex pages, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

You didn't misrepresent anything but they certainly seem to be....

I would be interested in knowing the question posed to the company before judging Jorge’s response.  Asking whether the company is affiliated with Rex or has ever been affiliated with Rex are different questions.

I simply do not know enough about how the original Rex was designed or manufactured to say anything about Jorge’s second representation. For example, did Rex contract with them or any other company to design and manufacture a razor that Rex simply labeled as its razor or was Rex involved with the original design process?

Regardless, I do understand the position that Jorge should have at least disclosed any past relationship (if there is nothing legally stopping him from doing so) with Rex if there was one.  That might be a good follow up question for anybody wanting to know the company’s history before purchasing the razor.

I actually just got off the phone with Matt.

DFS won't be touching this razor officially, unfortunately.

That’s a good point, as currently or previously affiliated are different things… I’d like to think they’d be forthcoming though as opposed to completely literal if the question wasn’t specific to if they have been at any time in the past.
But given that it looks to be two under-20 people running the consumer-facing side of things, it doesn’t totally surprise me ;-)   I do applaud them for their entrepreneurship, hopefully it just doesn’t become a disingenuous thing in any way.

Hello everyone, this is Jorge. I understand there has been a lot of confusion and skepticism over our razors. I can say that these parts are in no way rejected parts from any party. We were the complete designers of this razors, based on the Gibbs razor. We make all of our razors in house. All of the parts currently being sold for these razors were made this year, in the past few months, any claim that these are old or rejected parts are wrong or lies. We understand some companies may be upset when looking at our product based on the price, because it is competitive and fair. But the truth is, we see no reason to raise our prices incredibly high when that is not what it is costing us to make. We are a new online store but have been a contracting CNC Machine Shop for around 20 years (you can see our shop website at mpcmachines.com), so you can trust that we have the experience and capability of making these razors, the way we and you want them made. Our razors are offered with 30 day postage paid returns and a lifetime warranty, so know that if there is ever a doubt, there is no risk in buying from us. We put a lot of effort, care, and thought into all of our products. As a family business, we ask that you give us a chance and let us know any questions or concerns you may have, we are here to make razors and build a community, not drama.

Check out this video where I explain a little more.

Nice try but they are lying through their teeth.

I contracted Jorge sr. via his shop mpc machines to produce the first 1,000 ambassador razors in 2017.

The quality was sub par on most of the parts with us having to bend, grind and modify parts to get them to assemble and function correctly.

This was m3-n2 razors. 2017-2018.

Relationship ended when Jorge threw a tray of parts at me and told me to get the f*** out of his shop because I demanded I get what I paid for.

Mpc retained all the rejected parts and now 7 years later are trying to sell pieces that I paid for. They are selling stolen merchandise.

I lost $20k+ with this company and now they have the audacity to try to come to the community and hawk rejected parts. I received less than 400 assemblies from them - the rest were non-usable and now are being sold to unknowing customers. Trust me - we bought one and examined it and verified it was our rejected parts.

Our attorney is working on a legal response to this issue and they best cease and desist before they get into serious hot water.

A machine shop selling a clients rejected (and paid for) parts is beyond unethical and it's sad that the father is getting his son involved in this nefarious behavior. [Image: jorge.jpg?t=1721442888]

Hey Matt, Jorge Jr here,

Honestly right now, I am having a few whiskeys with my dad celebrating our friday.

But tomorrow I will respond to you and you will go down.

Because if you want to air it all out we will air it all out. All of it, the way it happened. And I do not think you want that.

Please go back to selling your overpriced razors and I will go back to running my business.

I have had the respect of not speaking bad about you, but enough is enough.

Get ready for our 3 piece coming out soon.

We have videos and proof of how things really went down, if you want to go that route.

Do you really want that? Dale

Best regards,
Jorge Jr and Sr and Leo

And just to show how low we can sell these for, because you are stealing from your customers.

Next 10 people to comment their emails get a free razor.
