Welcome - I started my collection with a thrift store find. I like looking for razors. Last find was a Slim for $4 in pretty nice condition. I started DE shaving with a EJ D89 that I picked up for $ 10 at a thrift store. Lucked into finding a good one to start with.
Thanks for the greeting MountainBear! A $4 Slim is a big score.
My best antique store finds are a $3 Schick Krona and a $5.5 Super Adjustable 109, both in sweet condition. Also picked up a user grade New Improved for $8 and when I say user grade it is totally shaveable with a couple end teeth just ever so slightly tweaked inwards. But the gold plating was long gone and it's well patina'd brass. It is a really efficient razor and I love to shave with it!
I see you are new here as well, so it's good to meet you!

Slim find: I am so new - I only knew it was Gillette. Ok - it had the Gillette diamond and it said Gillette. I took it home and then learned it was a Slim and then figured out the date code. Slim is a few years older than I am. We are both from the 60’s. Seems to work great - I just wish the handle was fatter and longer. Happy hunting.

That is way too funny, raised by Marmots!
I lived the last couple years of high school and college years in Montana. I earned spending money working at the outdoor program leading trips. Loved getting up above the tree line in the Beartooth Mountains and watch them scurry about!
