[Image: HooWJAB.jpg]Hey everyone, I know it’s been awhile since I’ve had an update on a coming release.  Supplies have been difficult to obtain, and delivery dates have been late.  But I’m happy to say I can finally share some news.

To kick off Maol Grooming’s new aftershave formula, he is revisiting Island in the Sun.  When he asked if I would make a matching soap for it, I jumped at the chance.  For more info on that scent, check out the post on Maol Grooming’s post.

In addition to Island in the Sun, a new scent, Okuma, will be released in the new V3 base.  I worked with my friend Ross on this, and his words tell the story:

“Growing up a military brat, and being at a young age, I didn't always appreciate the opportunity to travel around the world. Leaving friends and familiarity every few years can be tough on a kid. But, in my pre-teen years, I was fortunate to live on a beautiful island embedded right in the Pacific Ocean - Okinawa. Now to give some perspective, this Japanese territory is quite small and only boasts a size of 463 square miles, but what this island lacks in size, it more than makes up for in its vast culture, traditions, and scenery.

Every Summer, my parents booked a nice long trip at a resort further up the island at an area called Okuma. This beach resort had no shortage of entertainment for a kid to go wild at the beach. Snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, banana boat rides, glass bottom boat rides, golf, volleyball, great food, and so much more was seemingly just outside your room. A beaming sun, warm sand, a cool breeze carrying the ocean air, waves crashing against surrounding rock walls lined around the beach, trees swaying along the coastline - this is my memory of Okuma.

I have nothing but the fondest memories of those summers as at Okuma Beach and with the generosity and assistance of Talbot Shaving, we were able to create a scent that pays tribute to Okuma. To give this scent a more realistic and natural feel, every note comprised in this profile has an origin that points to Japan. At its core, this is an aquatic forward scent with wonderful citrus undertones and the faintest hint of green to round out the profile. The aquatic aspect of this scent is quite different in that it utilizes aquatic notes which really give this a unique, yet true and genuine, take on the surrounding water. Initially, we had no clue how well this would play into this scent profile.  Admittedly, I pictured a very dank and mossy green note in my mind, but to our surprise, it really captured the essence of what we were looking for. It is the key to this scent and what embodies the memories I have of this beach the most.

Throughout the years, I became accustom to a military style upbringing. Many friends that I’ve grown up with have also made it their life’s journey to serve our country. My occupation has also allowed me to work alongside many active duty and retired military personnel. Support for our nation’s military is something I’ve been passionate about for as long as I can remember. As such, for this release, Talbot Shaving will continue their generosity and will be donating $1 per jar of soap sold to the Wounded Warrior Project. Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a nonprofit charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of military actions following September 11, 2001. For more information or to donate, visit www.woundedwarriorproject.org/.”

Release information on both soaps and aftershaves is forthcoming.

Unfortunately there is an issue in shipping.  We’ve been trying to resolve it but aren’t sure when it will arrive.  I do apologize and will be sure to keep everyone posted.

Hey sorry, I just got this notification.  The release info was posted in a separate thread.  That was in July.
